cgiannakidis70
Hi to all. I followed this guide [Guide] How to make a bootable OS X 10.9 Mavericks USB install drive on LINUX .The usb is booting in chameleon but after pressing enter my laptop reboots.I used patched mach_kernel for haswell .What might be the the problem? Thanks in advance.
cgiannakidis70
I have used the proper patched kernel from the site you say for 10.9.4.I tried with -f flag but no result. By the way where is the extra folder in the usb stick .Can you tell me the path for it? Thanks.
cgiannakidis70
I m sorry but there is no Extra folder in my root pendrive . Also the patched kernel should be at root or S/L/Kernels of pendrive?
cgiannakidis70
So I must create an Extra folder in the usb installer.Any suggestions for that? Thanks anyway for your help.
cgiannakidis70
I followed the guide again creating again the usb installer. This time i used chameleon-2.3svn binaries and the extra folder i found inside. I did not install the MBR patch as it says is optional. Now the laptop boots into chameleon and after enter it starts to load (i used -f -v -x flag) but it stops suddenly with kernel panic.I used the patched kernel from the site above for mavericks 10.9.4. EDIT:Booting without flags i have the same kernel panic.Might it be a matter of NullCPUPowerManagement.kext?
cgiannakidis70
I installed, as the guide says, FakeSMC.kext and NullCPUPowerManagement.kext from the links in the guide, both in System/Library/Extensions folder of pendrive.
cgiannakidis70
After another try using flag "npci=0x3000 -v" i managed to boot to the install screen, but before that my laptop keyboard did not work.So i had to plug in another usb keyboard to continue the installation. Now i interrupt the installation. Which kext should i install to usb stick so my keyboard recognized by the installer? EDIT: I booted into installation screen using another usb keyboard, after formated the disk with disk utility started the installation but in 18 minutes remaining the installation stopped .I tried a second and a third time but i had the same result.
