Hi, I am new here. Been on TM site, but not getting where I need to be.

Here is where I am at:

- I have system up and running with Intel 530, internet working via Ethernet, USB seems ok. I got here with #####-prep'd install USB, clover 3766. FakeSMC and Mausi internet are the only kexts I used. In clover config.plist: Default boot volume MacHDD, timeout 3. Boot args are nv_disable=1 dart=0. Under graphics inject Intel. Kernel and Kext patches AppleAHCIPort and AppleUSBXHCIPCI. Apple RTC, ASUS AICPUPM and KernelPM checked. RT vars booterconfig 0x28, CsrActiveConfig 0x3 (maybe I will need to have this 0x67 once I put RX480 in board). SMBIOS just shows iMac14,2 no details.

- Above was based on a config.plist that I found on this thread here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/317095-new-build-ga-z170x-ud5-mac-os-sierra-problems/, as ##### install USB out of the box with usual edits wasn't working...

- Now I am trying to get RX480 working. It is not installed. Because of previous attempts based on editing the AMDRadeon4100 kext, and not seeing any result, I reinstalled Sierra a couple times, redid USB installers, and maybe that got things into weird state in terms of EFI's and config.plists. I noticed that clover adds a config.plist to the EFI parent folder. So no idea how all these files have affected things. At one point ##### stopped being able to copy files to a newly formatted USB, saying it couldn't copy base system files. And ##### results in system not booting - just going to apple logo and rebooting after 5 seconds, in verbose showing only two lines, something about hibernate no, and eservices/boot.efi. No idea why config for the SSD's EFI should even be different - why not just copy from USB EFI?

- So... looking for advice here. Since I have Sierra up and running, should I even try and reinstall Sierra for any reason, or can someone advise on how to get from where I am now (working with intel 530) to fully working RX480 setup? Existing config.plist, kexts, etc, would be useful!

thanks,

Brian

 • 3 weeks later...

Ok, been away from home. Tried this but immediately upon choosing to boot from the hard drive (on which I replaced clover folder with attached) I don't even see the apple icon, it goes right to a few lines of verbose saying loading overrides, then reboots within a few seconds. Any ideas what could be causing so much trouble in this case?
