Amegi
Hello everybody! I have an old and beloved laptop HP Compaq nx9020. But there was no Wi-Fi device. I bought Intel PRO 2915abg and tried to install it. But when the laptop started, error 104 (whitelist) appeared. Month trying to solve this problem (making BIOS modding) is not obtained. Could you help me to solve this problem with a whitelist? Notebook: HP Compaq nx9020 BIOS: F.16 (22 Aug 2005) – sp31140.exe (1,6Mb) System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (32-bit) My new Wi-Fi card: Intel PRO/ 2915ABG (WM3B2915ABG) ID: PCI \ VEN_8086 & DEV_4224 & SUBSYS_10108086 (Information from wikidevi.com) Old Wi-Fi card was not, but in the Manual Service contains the Intel PRO Wireless 2100 3B Intel PRO/ 2100 (WM3B2100) ID: PCI \ VEN_8086 & DEV_1043 & SUBSYS_25228086 (Information from wikidevi.com) Best regards, Amegi
nawcom
I took a quick look at your BIOS file and it has these cards listed in the whitelist that I'm seeing: 8086:1043 subvendor 8086:2527, 8086:2522 - PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter 8086:4220 subvendor 103c:12f5, 103c:12f6, 8086:2701 - Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG 14e4:4320 subvendor 103c:12f4, 103c:12f6, 103c:12f8, 103c:12fa, 103c:12fb - Broadcom BCM4306 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Controller I replaced the device and subdevice ids for the 2100 3B with the 2915 model info you provided in BIOSCOD1.ROM where they're referenced. Included is the WinPhlash app for flashing with the modded BIOS named MODDED.WPH and also includes the original. I am not responsible for anything that goes wrong with this. If it flashes fine but you still are getting the error 104 then let me know. According to the page some 2915ABG models use device id 8086:4223 subvendor id 8086:1000-1003 which I didn't add to this whitelist. I can add those as well. nx9020.zip
Amegi
Hello everybody! The question with the presence of a whitelist in the BIOS nx9020 remains relevant. After trying to install a modified BIOS, the laptop stopped booting (a dark screen). Best regards, Amegi
HackerKitty
Hello, If you are still having a problem booting your laptop, there is a way to flash the old BIOS back using a USB memory: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Archive-Read-Only/How-to-use-the-HP-BIOS-update-uefi-utility/td-p/337347/page/18 (It's the second posting from the bottom). I have not tried this myself so I cannot vauch, but I recently flashed my HP Mini 110-3500 with a mod BIOS to remove HP whitelist. I searched for a contingency plan for a worst case - which happily did not happen https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-HP-Disabled-Whitelist-Mega-Thread This is an old inactive thread, but it might give you some hint about mod BIOS. This is where I found a mod BIOS based on InsydeH2O F23 for my HP.
