Where to find valid serial number?

Hi,

Recently was having problems with the app store and upgrading to Sierra. Read a few guides and it turned out one of the reasons was my serial number was blacklisted on the Apple support site. So according to the guide you have run either chameleon wizard or clover configurator to randomly generate a new one which I did but Apple's support site rejected each one. So possibly Apple has figured out the algorithms these apps use to generate serial numbers? In anycase I finally found one that works somewhere but was just wondering if I use a serial number that may match some other system wouldn't that cause issues with imessage and icloud mixing up who is who? Also was wondering about how safe is that and do you guys just turn those features off anyhow?

Thanks

As far as I know if you check your s/n on the Apple website and it returns as invalid then that is the correct result, meaning its not one of theirs. On the other hand if you get one that returns a result as valid then you should not use it as it means there is a genuine Mac device out there with the same s/n and is also registered on Apple's data base so basically you'll be running a clone which is not good. I think your inability to connect to the App Store is to do with how your ether or wifi connection is configured, it should be configured as 'Ethernet en0'. Check your system profile to confirm the settings - see my pic with personal details removed.

Well all the Clover guides I found said to use Clover Configurator and verify the random serial number on the Apple Support Site which implies that Apple can blacklist a code and also stop you from running updates. Also said to use even google or eBay to find one off of a dead system. So I'm a little confused on what's the proper way to do it. Thanks.

Ok I can relate to that, using the values from a dead Apple Mac is ok, but I have built quite a few hacks with injected formulated values without any of the problems you are experiencing, iMessage, F-Time, App Store all work. I did have the initial problem of logging into the App Store on one hack before I realised that my Ethernet port was registered as 'en2' and not shown as built in. That is a major problem for App Store logon.

Yeah the author a couple 'Guides' recommended taking a serial from an Apple Store or the internet. I almost did then realized how wrong that is but honestly its a shade of gray anyhow..

Don't know about Apple black listing generated values or preventing access to updates, I can only relay my own experiences, I have always generate and inject my own formulated values and have never had an issue logging into iMessage/F-Time or prohibited from running D/Loads. I have complete access to all Apple Services on my three hacks.

Try following my guide, if you still have problems, let me know:  Guide for iMessage/Facetime

Make sure your iPhone supports text message forwarding (should include a list with your "hackintosh" device). If it isn't in the list, iMessage will be broken.
