Hello, im looking for a graphic card for my build.

I have been using integrated graphics (Intel HD 4600) of my Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H
in my Mavericks.
Now I have Sierra installed and I need a better graphics.
I use my hackintosh for music production (Logic Pro X and Pro tools)
also for video edition with Final Cut Pro X and Photoshop.
I don't need a really hi-end graphic card, because I don't play games.
I want a good performance working with this programs.
Of course with a 100% compatibility with Sierra jajaja

I have seen a lot of graphics cards, but I don't really know what kind of graphic card I need.
Im not new hackintoshing, but yes with graphics cards jaja.

thanks you so much for your help!

use Nvidia gtx 9xx and web drivers, update system, update web drivers ;)

Agreed. Personally in my system with a 4770K I use a GTX 960 paired with a 270X. The 960 worked flawlessly in Yos and El Capitan with web drivers before I downgraded back to Mavs with the 270X. It's funny because we both have the same CPU and motherboard, and I randomly stumbled across this thread while browsing.

Hello Guys!

some days ago to get the card.

Now I got it.

I have upgrade too the Case to a Not Hummer ZS Black 3.0

and a new CPU cooler (Katana 4). Now I got 32-50ºC in cpu, and really less noise.

this is the MSI Nvidia GTX 980 Gamer edition that I have.

But not all is good....

It doesn't work correctly, and I need your help.

The graphic card is working fine, I saw it in the owner PC running games and more.

I have connected to my PCIE, with the 2 power cables from my Power Supply.

then I powered on, and all apparently working in windows and Mac (with Nvidia drivers).

after of this, I turned off the pc, and when I powered again, it doesn't display the screen; All black without connection to the display.

My gigabyte Z87-UD3H have a little screen inside to show number codes you have an error in the boot time.

I have tried to power on, off, on ,off....

sometimes boot , other times nothing....

Only happens when I connect the graphic card,

and the code error that I got when it freeze is "b2",

I don't know what it means, but it stock at this code, and I think that the system is not continued charging

because when I press the power button to turn it off, it only need to press instantly ,not to hold 5 seg to turn off.

What is happening with this? Im really confused, because I know that the graphic card is working in the other computer...

thanks you so much for your help guys!  :)

----------------------

Okey, I have news!!,

My gigabyte is dual bios. I have the lastest version in one rom (F9 , the "stable", not the beta) and in backup rom F7 (original released from factory)

with F7 boots always. With F9 not....

I have entered in Mac partition, and I have 2 issues.

when apple logo is charging; its so slow,. 5 times or more Than with integrated graphics.

I thinks that is because I don't have it correctly  configurated.

I only downloaded the Nvidia web driver. And the screen feels lagged and slow in all the movements of the windows and desktops.

What Im doing grown guys ? jajaja

thanks you so much for the help  ;)

PD: How can I test the potential of the graphics in Mac OS?

Just be sure that nvda_drv=1 is enabled in your Clover config. If it isn't, graphics acceleration will not work and your GPU will not be correctly in System Profiler (shows incorrect VRAM, etc.) A quick way to tell if you have QE/CI is if you have transparency in your dock and menu bar.

Open Clover configurator and go to the boot options section. There should be a box you can tick that lets you enable it.

Hello guys

Okey, Im trying to know what is happening with the system and the new graphic card.

I was in an error, is not a problem of the Bios version, its a problem with MHZ configuration (in the bios system)  of the RAM.

If the ram is at 1333 MHZ boot and shutdown everything without any problem.

but if I put the ram in an higher MHZ , the bios freeze the booting with an error code "b2".

After of this I have to do a cmos reset (button in the MoBo) and boot again (because MoBo reset to 1333 default MHZ of the ram)

Let me explain what is really happen.

If I have at 1333MHZ RAM ,  i can power the computer.

I enter in the Bios, then I change the ram to 2200MHZ.

Save, and reboot (without power off the system).

At this moment, I can access to Clover.

Clover boots well.

Mac OS working with 2200MHZ .

Shutdown the computer.

Power on, and it doesn't boot.

Bios error "b2".

I have to reset cmos bios or quit the graphic card and insert it again.

What do you think that is happening?

Why crash when I put a higher MHZ in the RAM ?

Maybe its a bad configuration of the graphic card.

I know that some people use windows programs to auto-overclock the gpu.

is there anyway to "reset" the gpu if it have memory? or upgrade if it have an internal system? jaja

Thanks guys !!

If you want to reset the graphics card to 'default' settings, you can always reflash the vbios or just use the switcher on the card to go to the backup bios to test it.

Have you tried different RAM slots or a different RAM stick? Also test a different GPU if possible. Either that or a voltage error or I have no idea.

I have tested, and the same....

different Ram with this board (same issues)

That Ram in other board (works fine)

I can't they other gnu because I don't have it, but integrated works fine with the ram at 2200

Thanks.
