dsalsa
I've tried 3 or 4 different installers of Sierra and all I get when I try to boot from them is "Can't find mach_kernel". Some assistance in this mater would be appreciated. dsalsa
Hervé thanks a lot for your quick response. That explains a lot. I've been running MacOS Mavericks, Yosemite and El Capitan on an AMD machine. The last time I used a machine with Intel was about 2 or 3 years ago. Used iAtkos v2 (Snow Leopard). I've been using that disk to boot my machine and then selecting my USB with the Sierra installer because my USB installer does not seem to boot my machine. Snow Leopard uses Chameleon so obviously it's not going to work. Thanks to you after 2 weeks I'm feeling as if I'm making some progress. I guess I need to get my computer to boot from the USB. dsalsa
Some assistance would be appreciated in this matter. I've created a USB with the Sierra installer but the problem is that I can't get it to boot my Sony Machine. I tried it in 2 other computers, a desktop and a laptop and they both boot off the USB no problems, but my Sony machine which is the one I want to install Sierra in to won't even boot off the USB. I Restored default settings, I made sure that UEFI was on, I made sure Booting from external device was on, but nothing. dsalsa
Thanks for the advise. I know it's not the USB port because I've booted the computer from that USB port. I'll try using MBR.
dsalsa
Good news, got my computer to boot from the USB. Haven't got to install Sierra, but hope to today
dsalsa
I was using a Clover tutorial to build my Sierra installer but never ended up with a bootable USB. Now that I do have a bootable USB using Enoch can any one tell me where can I find a tutorial using Enoch instead of Clover. I did install Enoch but just a default install as I do not know what to select in the customize mode
dsalsa
There is a possibility that what might I have made my USB bootable is not Enoch but the fact that I formated it MBR oppose to GUID. Still waiting for a guide to how to build a Sierra installer. Right now when I boot from my stick without any boot flags I get "System uptime in nanoseconds: 1436549619" Sony VPCL222FX Motherboard: Sony VAIO; CPU: Intel® Core™ i3-2310M CPU @ 2.10GHz; GPU: Intel HD Graphics 3000; Memory: 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM; Drives: SATA 3 Gb/s 500 GB, ATAPI DVD RAM; Wireless keyboard and mouse, Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64bit

dsalsa
Followed your guides and I'm still getting the System uptime in nanoseconds error using the -v and -f boot flags. dsalsa
Ok i've added the AICPUPM kext in /System/Library/Extensions Well let me make a correction there the AICPUPM patch is not a kext. When you unzip it it's a Contents forder with 2 plist files and 3 folders no kext anywherre around. One thing I did was unzip the E6220_i5-2520M_HD3000_Sie-Pack.zip, when I checked my Extra folder I noticed I had forgot to unzip the file when I put it in the Extra folder. Attached is a .mov of what I get now when I try to boot of my stick with the -f -v boot flags. Sorry .mov to large will attach a pic of the last screen ACPI Execption: AE_TIME, Returned by Handler for [/embeddedControl ] (20140826/evregion-178) ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed ... (repeats this 4 times slightly different) Still waiting for root device and that keeps repeating and repeating
dsalsa
There is no AICPUPM kext. When you download the AICPUPM patch it's zipped. Once you unzip it it's a folder with files and folders, no AICPUPM kext is in any if the fodders. I looked in all the folders and there are no kext anywhere around. The next things you are telling me to do (patch your USB controllers, i.e. rename all instances of EHCx in DSDT to EH0x + use a USB injector kext) are beyond my knowledge. dsalsa
Ok for starters I'm not using a trackpad, I'm using a standard wireless Sony mouse. On the keyboard I'm not using a ALPS PS2 controller, I'm using a Standard wireless Sony PS/2 keyboard on a Sony VAIO VPCL222FX All in One. As I said before the next things you are telling me to do (patch your USB controllers, i.e. rename all instances of EHCx in DSDT to EH0x + use a USB injector kext) are beyond my knowledge. bbhags
I ran into this error after first being unable to boot with the screen: boot0: GTP boot0: done which flashed for a fraction of a second and then my pc would reboot. Upon researching that "error", i saw that the chameleon wizard fixes it, but now that I've chameleon'd the flash drive, i'm now getting the cant find /mach_kernel error. The OSX image my flash drive has is for El Capitan and the kernel file is inside System/Library/Kernels. I'm trying to install El Capitan using one of the new Ryzen 5 1600 cpus on an M.2 nvme ssd alongside Windows 10. Any help is extremely appreciated
