that_tall_guy
Hi I'm in the process of setting up Yosemite on a new hackintosh build, using Clover and the Clover Configurator. I've got as far as fixing iMessage with Clover Configurator. I can boot from the hard drive. The problem I'm having is that my wifi card will lose connection and not let me reconnect to the network. I have an Atheros AR5B91 mini pci-e card, which worked without me adding any extra kexts. My computer detects it as an Atheros 9280. I have IO80211Family.kext and IONetworkingFamily.kext installed. The card works perfectly under Windows 10 on the same machine. What happens is that after some indeterminate amount of time, I will lose wifi connection (the wifi icon goes grey) and I cannot reconnect. Once I have lost connection my computer can still see several wifi networks, I just can't connect to any of them. When I try to connect to my home wifi I am asked for the network password again, even though the password is already stored, but I cannot reconnect. I have also discovered that if I click on the wifi icon in the toolbar and turn wifi off and then back on again I can no longer see any networks. I have tried masking off pin 51 on my wifi card, which is one of the pins that is used to turn wifi off, but it has not made any difference. Is this a hardware or software problem? Possible hardware faults could be a faulty wifi card, or a faulty PCIE adaptor, but I don't want to start buying more parts before ruling out a software problem. The computer has a Gigabyte GA-H81M-S2PV motherboard, a core i5 processor, and 4GB of RAM.
that_tall_guy
Hi Herve Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I've already setup my router to broadcast the 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks on separate SSIDs as I used to have network issues on my old white iMac.
