Hi,

I have two graphic cards mentioned above, one with 1 GB and the other with 2 GB VRAM. HDMI and DVI outputs are working fine.

In normal use they don't have problems, it's also possible to play 3D games etc. But when starting Valley I get a blue or black screen with moving graphics errors. The image is absolutely not visible, but the sound is working. The display of the second, in Valley unnused monitor is also ok. After quitting Valley everything is ok. Is this a software problem, does Valley use some hardware components the HD4870 doesn't support?

In Leopard the card isn't working either, only if I'm booting in Safe mode. I have two driver packages for the HD4870 with modified ATIRadeonX2000.kexts and Natit.kext. One package is containing an older version of the OpenGL.framework, which I can't use because I have XCode installed, it has it's own OpenGL.framework. I got some combination that the graphic cards starts a strong flickering before launching loginwindow like it was usual on my HD2600XT, but then I got either a black screen or a black screen with artifacts. I tested this only on the 2 GB version yet.

I'm using Clover 3882, the last version with 32bit support. The ID of the graphics card is 9440. The board is a Zotac Geforce 9300 ITX with a Xeon E5450. I have two of these boards with identical setups (except the VMEM of the graphics cards), and both have the Valley problem. The systems work fine, except Sleep, the graphics card stays on, and the system doesn't wake up.

Some help would be appreciated, especcially getting the card working in Leopard. I need it for some purposes, and the HD4870 was one of the best graphics cards for it.

Greets, naquaada.
