hellomydearfriends Posted January 27, 2017 Share Posted January 27, 2017 I got a copy of iLife 11 from eBay and i checked it to see if it is legit, and it was. So i mounted my drive to the VMWare to the Hackintosh Sierra and it loaded fine but i found out the GPU wasn't compatible. And i read that: VMWare is using a fake GPU emulation where it can't use the hosts GPU and tell that it might have Quartz thing on there so Mac's can't know if this hardware was used. So... Is there a great VM program for Windows? And yes i'm using Windows since i the PC's i have don't have compatible Wi-Fi drivers so the VM only was my choice to get online and use it as my daily basis. smolderas Posted January 27, 2017 Share Posted January 27, 2017 First IMHO your iLife license is only valid on a computer with a Mac symbol on it So don't bother to say it, if you don't own a real Mac. Secondly there are many VM solutions that supports GPU passthrough, so you could assign one of your GPU to the VM. nawcom Posted January 27, 2017 Share Posted January 27, 2017 Your PC needs to support VT-d and have it enabled in the UEFI/BIOS in order for GPU passthrough to work, and even then you need to have your graphics card be supported in OS X. VMware doesn't have an OS X driver to enable Quartz Extreme/Core Image - at best it will provide a framebuffer and hardware cursor so you can have your own resolution and make the mouse cursor move better but you won't get real video acceleration that will enable QE/CI. If your graphics card is supported in OS X and the only thing stopping you from running it natively is wireless, then why not fix the wireless? There are PCIe wifi cards that are supported natively in OS X just fine. There is also USB wifi if you want to go that route, though you'll have to use its third-party wireless utility to connect. You could also attach your ethernet card to a cheap wireless bridge. There are a number of ways to get around the wireless issue. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
