Hello,

I have got Mavericks running on my Asus 1008P Netbook with Atom kernel.

It is not really fast but its working nice,

i only got one problem, the internal wifi.

after the installation i installed the IO80211Family kext, and it will show my card.

I can see the networks available, but when i try to connect i get an error "Connection Failed".

Does any one have a idea what this could be ?

Hi, in order for me to help you, I need to know the exact chip ID of your wifi card. Could you tell me what it is? OS X is very difficult to get working on most wifi cards, and a very small number are supported. One of the best known supported cards is the Atheros AR9285, which will work with a custom IO8211Family.kext. If possible, you can always buy one from eBay for around $10.

Best regards,

- Matt

Hey sorry for the late replay, i got it fixed now!

I downloaded a different IO8211Family.kext and now it is working!

the laptop is a little bit slow, bit thats normal for a old laptop.

The only problem i still have is i get an error when i try to log in to iCloud.

But i read a lot of problem with this, and i can't seem to find a fix for this.

Regards

iCloud error is probably caused by an NVRAM issue. Use FileNVRAM if you aren't already, and if that doesn't work try to use Clover if you are using Chameleon. Also make sure that your Ethernet is working and is registered to en0 rather than en1 or en2. If you use Chameleon, put EthernetBuiltIn=Yes in your oCBp. Ethernet on en1 or en2 can cause conflicts because in Apple computers Ethernet is always en0, Clover solves the issue automatically.

To make sure that this is the actual issue, go to System Profiler and click on Ethernet. If it is en0 then this is not the problem, but if it is en1 or above, it is. Tell me what happens and we'll see if we can't fix it ;)

Good luck,
