Anone
I installed Sierra on Vmware but it does not support 3D acceleration. Is there anything i can do to improve the performance of Sierra on Vmware? Would downgrading to El Capitan yield better peroformance? Is 3D acceleration supported on El Capitan? I can't go below El Capitan as XCode is only compatible with El Capitan/Sierra.
nawcom
Core Image / Quartz Extreme isn't supported in virtual machines which is probably what you're looking for. You can get better framebuffer support so you can change the resolution and use a a hardware-driven cursor which makes things look smoother but you're not going to get the kind of acceleration that's available when you run, let's say Windows within a VM in VMware. It's a limitation that comes with running OS X in a VM. VMwareGfx.kext should come with Darwin VMware Tools. Another kext to use: https://sourceforge.net/projects/vmsvga2/
Anone
I have the darwin.iso. Do i have to keep it on my windows and start VM with the iso every time or can it be removed after the first time?
nawcom
No, it's just a CD image that contains an installer pkg for VMware tools, just like VMware tools equivalent for Windows in windows.iso or Linux in linux.iso that's included with the software. Install the pkg.
