llamafilm Posted December 28, 2016 Share Posted December 28, 2016 Can someone please enlighten me about the location IDs shown in System Profiler for USB devices? Each device or hub has a Location ID like 0x14a20000 / 13. The first part never changes, but the number after the slash seems to change at random when I unplug and replug devices. What does that part mean? The first 3 digits are shared by devices connected to the same hub, and the fourth digit specifies the device. But these numbers don't seem to have any correlation to the port names in ioreg, like HS01, etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
