I'm sure most of you have had the problem with this wireless adapter, where it installs fine, but when you restart, the wifi doesn't work. This is simply because the post install script isn't updated to extract the kext for macOS Sierra. Luckily everything except the kext is installed properly so all you need to do is grab the kext and copy-paste some commands.

If you don't have your install disc, you can use this link to download the installer and let it run: [Here]

After you've run the installer, download the kext from this post and install it with Kext Utility.

Finally, you'll need to tell the LoginItem where the WirelessUtility is located:

/Applications/Edimax\ Wireless\ Utility/LoginItem -stringArg /Applications/Edimax\ Wireless\ Utility/WirelessUtility.app -boolArg YES

If you're unable to run the Wireless Utility because it says it's corrupted or an app made by unidentified developer just run this:

sudo spctl --master-disable

Side note: All of the wireless devices that use the RT2870 chipset (Mediatek/Edimax/D-Link/etc) can all be fixed by using this method, it's just that you'll need to change the folder paths to suit your manufacturer.
