Based on my research on this forum and others, the usual suspects appear to be:

1. Bluetooth wake (disabled bluetooth)

2. Network wake (disabled my non-usb wifi card)

3. USB wake (unplugged usb hub from mobo)

To start off, I checked the Console to get the wake reason and noticed a flood of Bluetooth error messages repeating very quickly over and over.

So I completely disabled Bluetooth by removing the kexts and rebuilding and rebooting.  This fixed the bluetooth messages and made the logs more readable.  If anyone knows how to fix the bluetooth error please let me know!

Getting closer to the root of the issue now, and it looks like it's a USB wake issue because I see:

12/11/16 9:29:16.000 PM kernel[0]: Wake reason: ?

12/11/16 9:29:16.000 PM kernel[0]: The USB device HubDevice (Port 1 of Hub at 0x1a000000) may have caused a wake by issuing a remote wakeup (2)

12/11/16 9:29:18.000 PM kernel[0]: full wake request (reason 1) 2902 ms

12/11/16 9:29:19.184 PM WindowServer[170]: CGXDisplayDidWakeNotification [108779021509]: posting kCGSDisplayDidWake

12/11/16 9:29:19.448 PM sharingd[263]: 21:29:19.447 : Starting AirDrop server for user 501 on wake

Thinking I might have a faulty USB hub (because there's nothing plugged into it) I disabled USB in bios and actually unplugged the USB hub from the laptops motherboard.  This made the USB message go away but it still won't sleep. Now I see just:

12/11/16 7:38:01.000 PM kernel[0]: Wake reason: ?

12/11/16 7:38:05.000 PM kernel[0]: full wake request (reason 1) 4025 ms

12/11/16 7:38:05.287 PM WindowServer[154]: CGXDisplayDidWakeNotification [215925088591]: posting kCGSDisplayDidWake

12/11/16 7:38:05.452 PM sharingd[263]: 19:38:05.451 : Starting AirDrop server for user 501 on wake

The only other odd thing I noticed is that immediately after the machine goes to sleep, the WIFI LED flashes once and then it comes out of Sleep.  This made me think it was my network card, an Atheros AR9285, so I disabled it by removing the ktext and rebooted. Now it tells me in Wifi settings that the hardware is not installed, and wifi is completely non-functional, yet the issue remains, and the WIFI LED still blinks once before it comes out of sleep.

Anyone have any other ideas?  Thanks!

Still banging my head on the desk on this one.  Anyone else know how I might be able to isolate this issue?  It was working fine until I installed a new keyboard and wifi card.  In the process, I had to remove just about every component of the laptop and put it back together.  Maybe something got damaged? I've tried removing the wifi card and the issue remains.
