Maybe you need take a look into your power management.

And for graphics, look here.

after adding nv_disable=1 then the system boots to the desktop.

I've used this guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/317548-guide-macos-sierra-10121-on-gigabyte-z170x-gaming-5/

didn't see anything about power management.

i use Clover_v2.3k_r3911

what do you mean by this post? http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/304530-clover-change-explanations/page-2?do=findComment&comment=2277183

what should i you?

thanks anyway

Specs:

GA-Z170X-Gaming 5

I7-6700k

Gigabyte GTX960 4GB

SSD

32GB memory

is it better to use El Capitan?  mainly i want to use Logix Pro X

see screenhots.

The videocard model is listen as NVIDIA Chip Model 7 MB.

I've set the nvidiaweb checkbox.

Or are these screen problems not a videocard/driver issue?

Try change Nvidia to True.

 <key>Graphics</key>
    <dict>
        <key>Inject</key>
        <dict>
            <key>NVidia</key>
            <true/>
        </dict>

And boot without nvda_drv=1

IMHO I don't see advantages in macOS Sierra.

Tried today El Capitan and basicly the same result. Videocard is listed as: Display 7MB

installed nvidia webdriver andas soon i restart in the nvidia panel the osx default graphics driver is set instead of the nvidia.

I looking to buy a AMD R9 280x or HD7970, these work better and right out of the box?

all right have managed to run Sierra and all 2 monitors thanks you for helping me

:yes:

do you also have a gtx960? if yes how did you get this working?

Offcource I'v fatto.

modello della mia carta è: Gigabyte GV-N960WF2OC-4GD

io uso la porta DVI con un adattatore da DVI a VGA. può che essere il problema?

follow the advice of SavageAUS

I have a 2 gb GTX 960 and I solved doing as he recommends.

I do not think the problem is the adapter you say.

i use the dvi port with a dvi to vga. can that be the problem?

Mine is also a 4GB card but i only use HDMI so unsure about portsYou may or may not need to inject Nvidia in clover

<key>Inject</key>
<dict>
<key>NVidia</key>
<true/>
</dict>

In clover configurator there is an option for ports, i suggest you read up on it.

Hi,

I've got a Nvidia GTX960 on my GA-Z170X-G5. Installed OS X 10.12.1 (16B2657)

installed these: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/110844/

And now it continue reboots.

Before the nvidia drivers the screen refresh is slow and some glitches see screenshots.

The SMBIOS is the key. Try iMac 14.2. This has been proven to be the best for nvidia 9xx series.

okay, but i've got a i6700k skylake cpu. is that a problem? or can i just change the number to 14.2 in config.plist?

If you want a better compatibility, use a proper SMBios for your hardware.

This can help in power management, and etc.

But you can do a test....

or can i just change the number to 14.2 in config.plist?

No, is not just change the model number.

You'll need create a new SMBios with iMac 14.2 information.

I've clicked on NVDAStartupWeb.kext patch and patch immediately in the web driver utility.

when i do this it seems te work, but only when connected to a DP port. dvi not working.

Don't know if this is the way to do it.
