Hello,

Im trying to see if mac osx will work on my laptop before i mess around with partitions and loose my current XP installation. So i am using VMWare and installing OSX onto a virtual drive.

The installation goes fine, and i choose the update packages "Intel Base" and "SSE 2" as i have a intel centrino in my laptop (Only SSE2).

After installation completes and it restarts i can only get as far as the blue screen where it says "OSX Starting", then the CPU load goes to 100% and all HDD activity stops. Ive left it in this state for 30mins and still no movement (more the 30mins and my processor will melt a hole in my table!)

This is the screen i am left with:

Has anyone had any similar problems or a solution to this? im going mad as ive been trying this for a week now!
