Basic set up that always works, it worked with Yosemite. This is the latest sierra installer version with the latest clover. I have tried different ports and it is with a freshly installed installer desk twice. And I formatted different drives every which way.

 

That is truly strange, any way you could try getting a 10.12.1 or 10.12.2 installer?

Hello! I currently have my rig up and running with (Yosemite OS X 10.5.5) installed with [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url], [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] & chameleon. 

 

Can I pay someone to prepare me a USB with Sierra 10.12.3 and a CLEAR instructions for the BIOS settings and a step by step to install Sierra?

 

Heres my build.

Do you get held up at a certain point or are you just looking to start from scratch?

 

I wish someone would update this, the ga-x79-up4 is such a great board and It seems like some people get manage to get it to work. I am doing ok with Yosemite. Everything works. Just not able to update to the latest Logic Pro X is my major holdup. I'm going to keep working at it. I'll post a full walk through if I can get it figured out.

Hello,

 

Followed instructions from here although my build is slightly different

Most things seem to work but I am having a couple of issues

- USB 3 devices are detected as USB 2 under System Report

- External USB 3 Hard Drives appear as Internal Hard Drives in System Report and Desktop Icons

 

Everything else seems to work. I hope someone can advise me on how to fix these issues. It seems that USB related problems is very common for Sierra and El Capitan with X79 systems.

 

I found and tried recommendations to apply a "Increase Max Port Limit" fix. This did not fix the problems and seemed to make USB 3 more flakey. I have now reverted to the previous state before applying this "fix".

 

Any help getting this sorted would be much appreciated!

Guys, I know this is a bit old thread but I have followed the steps and everything went fine until I tried to update to 10.12.4 :(

 

I got a lot of errors about AppleUSBxHCI and the system is not booting to desktop anymore.

 

Any suggestions?

-Replace full folder, dont changed nothing, try it
