Schnuupi
I have tried a USB of Maverick and Yosemite as well as a couple of distros for testing purposes. It works fine in my main AMD desktop and maverick installed without issue but I have an Intel laptop and when I go to boot the USB it just acts as if there's nothing there and proceeds to Windows or another OS. USBs for Linux worked fine so it's not the stick. Its not a UEFI laptop it's a Sony vaio from around 2011/2012Any ideas would be great. It's a Sony Vaio PCG-91211M for anyone needing to know, Intel i5.
Schnuupi
Please anyone, I need some help! Tried so many things, making an MBR usb installer, trying to use an older distro that isnt UEFI. It just seems that all the bootloaders of OSX refuse to even start booting, it's like the laptop does not find any bootable sector on the USB so skips to the next place the hard drive. Schnuupi
Just FYI, I have tried this USB before, it installed Mavericks fine onto my AMD Desktop, but my Intel Laptop won't even boot it, skips right over refusing to try. Sadly my Desktop uses a PCI soundcard so I get no sound with OS X if I use my desktop.
