I am trying to do a new install of El Capitan 10.11.5 with Clover legacy mode USB on my Dell E6520 (i7, 4GB RAM on slot 0, Samsung EVO850 SSD).

When Clover boots into El Capitan installer, the Apple logo appears and then the PC will reboot.  Verbose show APCI section searching /Extra/Extensions/ and then black screen and reboot.  Cannot figure out what is causing the panic reboot.

Please help!

Actually, I had been reading Jake Lo's guide and borrowed his E6420 and EFI files.  The USB was created with the latest Clover 2.3k_r3726 legacy mode as the Dell latitude is unable to boot with UEFI.  I was finally able to get the error to display.

Here it is

Error allocating 0x4705 pages at 0x0000000007a67000 alloc type 2

Error loading kernel cache (0x9)

Boot failed, sleeping for 10 seconds before exiting...

I read on the forum something about the 10.11.5 and problem with OsxAptioFixDrv, but not sure how to fix this.

Update:  The same USB works fine on a E6420 so there is something on the E6520 that is not liking the USB.  Would like to do this on the E6520 if possible because it has a 15" display instead of the smaller 14"on the E6420.

Just compared the hardware list working E6420 has i5 and Nvdia and 2 strips DDR3 RAM 2GB each.  E6520 that failed has i7 and HD3000 and 1 strip DDR3 4GB.  I went into the BIOS and disabled all the unnecessary stuff, but still not working.

Actually it turned out it didn't work on the E6420 either.  Might have to do with the Samsung EVO 850 SSD.   When it was originally working, it had the old Dell Seagate HD.  I took it out and replaced with a brand new Samsung SSD that I wanted to use and it failed the same way.  Do I need to initialize the SSD first?  I believe it came preinitialized for Windows, but there is nothing on the drive yet.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear.  I followed Jake Lo's Guide and used his generic EFI folder so that is identical to what he has attached in the EFI.zip on his post.  There is no /Extra.  Should I have one?

Why did the OSX installer come up fine with the original HD and failed after I replaced the HD with SSD if SSD is supposed to work the same way?  I put the old HD back it and it is able to boot up the OSX installer and allow me to setup, but I didn't want to format the HD.  With the new SSD in, the Apple logo would come up and then you it will change to the no-entry sign.

I am sorry I might be confusing people so, this is in case anyone else reads the posts.  I am answering my own issues.

Here is what I had done. I had to redo the USB following Jake Lo's guide for Dell Latitude. There were several updates that he had posted.

Most important was the VoodooPS2Controller as well as the new AppleHDAIDT.kext.

After this fix it should have worked on both E6420 and the E6520, but apparently there is another factor to this; yes, the SSD.

The Samsung EVO 850 SSD is smaller than the original Seagate HDs.  So it was not getting detected by the BIOS properly.  I have removed the original plastic cover for the HD slot and used my hand to push the SSD in to make sure the connectors are getting the proper connections.  Then used foam to hold it in place and started up the BIOS. Hit F12 to get into the BIOS settings and made sure the SSD is getting detected.  Then rebooted with the USB Installer.  Now all is good!
