Wanted to make a switch to Clover, but I can't even start the installation as I get "Reboot and Select proper Boot device" error. MOBO: Gigabyte B85 D3H rev2.0 / CPU: Intel i7 4770 VT-d: off XCHI Mode: Auto XHCI Hand-off - Enabled EHCI Hand-off - Enabled I tried like every usb creation method. So I suppose I might need to edit something in config.plist. I've tried with 4 different USB pens. I uplodaed my config.plist file which was created using chris1111's method. I only modified my SMBIOS to be iMAC 14,1. UPDATE> "I made it work !! But the usb wans't the problem as I was trying to tell You. I performed a BIOS recovery. Factory state, settings. I made the exact same settings (XHCI,EHCI, etc..) and voila' my usb has been recognized. My system is up and running now. Somehow, the pendrive won't be bootable, no matter which method I use. This only happens with Clover. If I make a Chameleon Yosemite pendrive it boots immediately. You said that the boot menu is not seeing your usb device. Make sure that you have enabled the usb detection in the "BIOS". In addition, as @C.Frio mentioned, try other usb ports. The above statement, about the ESP installation is true for the legacy clover, I'm not sure about the UEFI. Since that's working, experiment with it a little more. The usb drive should have HFS+ file system definition. If you follow step by step the mentioned guide, in the first post, it should work, maybe you missed something. Try again. Best of luck. I'm 150% sure that I made the same exact thing as in the video. Same results. Here are the pics. BorisValkov Posted September 4, 2016 Share Posted September 4, 2016 Boot into Linux... Use GParted on the USB Stick to remove all partitions, and DO NOT FORMAT IT... Leave it RAW... Or boot into Windows... Use RUFUS and make a bootable DOS (FAT32) Disk with MBR... Then, on your Mac create the USB stick exactly as it was described in the Guide you had posted... (when you format the USB stick using the DiskUtility, don't forget to use GPT and HFS+ Journaled) and use the latest Clover (build 3726 I believe) or Chris1111's Clover 2.3k Special Edition (See DL Section)... Then see if the USB Stick is correctly recognized... Some UEFI firmwares will not recognize a stick correctly (or drive in general) if it already has a mangled/empty EFI Partition...
