Hi,

you don't have to use any Graphics Enabler on org.chameleon.boot.plist.

Try new boot.plist

For Ethernet card, insert new info.plist  in Yukon2.Kext inside IONetworkFamily.kext.

I recommend you to use Kext Utility to install it in  /System/Library/Extensions

I also recommend to use/install Enoch bootloader

attachicon.gifboofile.zip

Ok, I'll try both of them...

I installed Enoch bootloader...

Doesn't it seem installed?

It might help if I installed Clover?

Another step forward to the victory...

Tried your modified boot.plist...a little better but the system freezes and stops after login (see photo attached)

The only way to reach the system is using -x -f boot flags. The monitor is recognized, it's possible to change resolutions (4 choices:1440x900 is better for me) and Ethernet is OKKKKKKKK!!!! It works!

The problem is that I can only boot in safe mode   :wallbash:

Tried also other boot flags (PCIRootUID=1, npci=0x2000, npci=0x3000) with no success.

Any other suggestions?

After a few attempts, the system always hangs up on login screen...

Could it be a good idea to install the nVidia web drivers???

If you used the provided EDID, I guess it's probably not suited to your system. Try without.

Do I have to remove it from DSDT???

But with the EDID provided, even if only in safe mode, the monitor is well recognized and I can change the resolution...

Hi,

i'm glad that you have solved the issue with Ethernet card Marvell Yukon ! :D

The EDID is right because you have extracted it from your notebook.

We can try to modify something in DSDT.aml and  boot.plist.

I post here in a short time ....

It seems it works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The strange thing is that in the first attempt the system hangs out after the login screen (that I have disabled)...

So I tried PCIRootUID=1 npci=0x2000 (no success) and PCIRootUID=1 npci=0x3000...and it works.

Then I tried without the above boot flags...and all has mysteriously turned out fine. I only hope it will last...

One thing to resolve: is there a way to fix the VAIO bios settings? Every time that I restart the osx, I have to enter in the bios settings to enable the external boot.

Patch AppleRTC.kext to prevent CMOS reset when rebooting...

Try cam,now with qe/ci enabled, it should work with Photo Booth...

Do you mean that I have to install a patched AppleRTC.kext or that I have to patch the one in /S/L/E by myself?

Pippox0...please...we have a problem...

The new files seemed good, but the system hangs up randomly (sometimes just after the login, sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes the screen freezes, sometimes it looks good but the mouse pointer can't click on icons or menu, etc.).

Note that with -x the system works.

I try with a fresh Yosemite installation (remember I used a usb installer created with U*****st).

Could it be a good idea to try the nVidia web drivers?

Is there something that I could do in the new installation?

The best you can do is a fresh Yosemite installation (Vanilla).

Search here on Forum a tutorial.

I don't think that the nVidia web drivers should work better ...

So...I made another try with my old USB installer and all is ok, except that...

after the disk has finished loading osx, the desktop has graphical errors like those in photo "A" (in one case the system freezes at all)!

To solve the problem I have to change resolution and change back to the desidered one (photo "B")

Is it normal?

Hello pippox0,

I can't solve the problem, even with a fresh installation.

I found a guide about EDID Injection with Clover that says:

  • Your graphics framebuffer kext is correctly loaded, but you receive no image after boot messages (aka black screen);
  • Your display seem to work fine only randomly;
  • You have blinking screen or many artifacts.

The second and third lines are about my problems.

So I tried with Clover, but I can't boot from USB. A message appear: boot6, than a black screen.

I follow the in the photo and the USB pen is MBR partition.

Where I went wrong?

Thanks for your help.

Hi, PippoX0,

thanks again for your help...

I'll try your new DSDT in a few hours.

And about external monitor...

I try, for desperation, old nVidia enabler and discovered that nVenabler64 works, but only if I connect an external monitor. In that way the system work perfectly.

But I can't keep connecting my one and only monitor (that's in other room) to solve my problem.

So let me try your new DSDT (and VideoHardwareInfo)...and I'll check if external monitor works or not.

Another question: if your DSDT didn't work, I'd like to try Clover beacuse I found a guide about EDID Injection with Clover that says:

  • Your graphics framebuffer kext is correctly loaded, but you receive no image after boot messages (aka black screen);
  • Your display seem to work fine only randomly;
  • You have blinking screen or many artifacts.

I used a USB pen formatted with one GUID partition and boot0af on MBR (but even boot0ss on MBR). On reboot a "6" appears and then black screen!

Then I tried to make a MBR DOS-FAT32 partition (EFI CLOVER) to install Clover and one HFS+ for the rest of USB.

Choose boot0af in the MBR (see options in the attached photos). Reboot and start b1f:init for a few seconds...than appear a "6" and then...black screen!!!

Any ideas to start Clover with Vaio?

HI, Calabuig,

try this new one DSDT. ( i change something)

Report if you resolve the issue

From the pics you have posted it doesn't seem that QE/CI is enabled.

Use VideoHardwareInfo to test it

question : The external monitor works fine or not ?

Cheers

Hi PippoX0,

look at the attached photo!!!

Here we are!

Great. It works. Just for my comprehension...what did you change in DSDT?

Both monitors work (extended mode) and QE enabled. Network works!

To tell the truth, like I said in a previous post, also nVenabler64 works, but only if I connect an external monitor.

So...thanks, thanks, thanks!!!
