llamafilm
My motherboard has one USB 3.1 port in addition to several USB 3.0 ports. When I connect a hard drive to the 3.1 port, it works sometimes, but randomly ejects. I see the following messages in system.log repeating as long as a device is connected. Aug 22 08:00:51 Hackintosh com.apple.kextcache[1022]: Link failed (error code 5). Aug 22 08:00:51 Hackintosh com.apple.kextcache[1022]: Prelink failed for com.apple.iokit.IOPCIFamily; omitting from prelinked kernel. Edit: Those log messages were because the USB 3 stick I was using to test happened to by a ##### installer. I guess I can ignore that, although I'm curious why that URL is mentioned. But the problem remains — random disconnects when using other drives on this port. VERY IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ! (ABOUT TONYMACX86 AND iATKOS M / Y) good hack I understand tony's stuff is frowned upon here, but I'm not sure what you mean exactly. Perhaps it would be better to just delete this thread and start a new one when I have more troubleshooting details. Unfortunately I don't have privileges to delete my own thread.
