Hey guys,

Im running El Capitan 10.11.5, and ive discovered that my sata dvd drives dont seem to work.

Now i am an AMD user, And i have got everything installed and running with no real issue, until it came to my dvd drives and i discovered that although they recognise audi cds that i put in them, They will not actually rip the cds to itunes, so i tested other formats like dvds, games stored on dvds, etc etc, again, they will not actually read, load, nor will they burn anything to or from a disc, be it cd-r or dvd-r.

I have held off re-installing in the hope it might be a simple solution, i previously had yosemite installed and they worked fine, my system is dual booted with windows and the drives work fine in windows, i also own a USB ext writer, so i connected that up to try and it works fine.

I figure it must be something to do with either compatability issues or a dodgy driver or something but i dont have a clue where to start to fix it, without trying to re-install.

Has anyone come across this issue before?, im hoping someone will have a solution.
