thesuffering
Currently on 10.10.5. El Capitan gave me issues with my Renasas USB 3 and graphics were choppy and slow. Should I expect similar issues in Sierra? Of course Id love to keep everything as up to date as I can, but of course if 10.11 problems are still present in 10.12, it won't really help. Just wanted to check.
PippoX0
If you can live without Reneas USB 3.0 , you can install El Capitan or Sierra. You can buy another Usb3.0 card if you have a desktop pc. For graphics is the same or you get Qe/Ci with your Graphics card or you change it with a OOB card. See Ya

See Ya I don't really care about usb 3 speeds. Its a laptop though, so can't really change much on it. If i could run 10.11/12 with usb on all ports id be happy. Graphics are HD3000, I really didn't expect any problems with graphics. But when I had El Capitan installed it was really choppy. Running a video on youtube would be extremely choppy, as were any animations like say clicking something or scrolling in the dock. Guess Ill look into it further. Maybe i just didn't spend enough time in El Capitan before giving up. Yosemite graphics are great.
Arkanis
Don't know how it is for you, but on a X9DAI motherboard back ports aren't working (USB3 Renesas BUT using the genericHCI Kext, front port are working after you plug a mouse or a keyboard on them... and you get full USB3 speeds... pretty strange, but it works.
