I am at my wit's end. I am unable to install El Capitan to a system which should be able to run it like a boss. First of all, Clover bootloader does NOT work at all. I have tried both EFI and Legacy modes, and they both throw me into the Boot Manager. I have disabled Secure Boot and enabled CFM in the BIOS. I have enabled Legacy USB support in the BIOS as well. I have only gotten anywhere using Chameleon bootloader, but it resets during the kernel initialisation stage. I have attached a short video showing this (dropbox link, because it is too large to upload here). I think the video is important to illustrate my woes. The laptop I am using is a powerhouse and I would REALLY like it to be able to run OS X. Any help would be appreciated. To create the USB installer, I used the apple method CreateInstallMedia, and I used the Enoch version of Chameleon (rev 2839) and the most up to date version of Clover that I could find (2.3k r3650). It appears that Clover has issues booting from USB 3.0 drives. Well I have been doing some research and it appears that I was getting that kernel panic due to a corrupted ACPI patch performed by the Clover bootloader. Well I have been doing some research and it appears that I was getting that kernel panic due to a corrupted ACPI patch performed by the Clover bootloader. neozeo Posted July 26, 2016 Author Share Posted July 26, 2016 Just an update. I 'fixed' the black screen issue by selecting the 'InjectIntel' in the graphics section. This renders very...very basic graphics support, enough so that I was able to install El Capitan to the HDD. Additional problems are that the keyboard and touchpad no-work. I think this is because a PS/2 kext is needed? I think that is how it works for some notebooks. Luckily, I have USB mouse and Keyboard which has allowed me to get though the prompts.
