frnic
I have been running this build for a while now and El Capitan runs fine. Sierra dev beta 1 had no problems (other than normal beta stuff). With the installation of Sierra Dev Beta 3 I have developed an issue with USB audio (HyperX 7.1 headset) developing static (gurgling?) sound after around 15 to 30 minutes. If allowed to continue the distortion/static gets louder and louder until that is all you can hear. This is affecting both the Microphone input and the headset output. Unplugging the headset and plugging it back in will solve the problem for another period of time. This started with Sierra dev beta 3 and has never been a problem before. I am NOT complaining that a beta should be perfect, I am asking if anyone else has this problem, or can point me in the direction of a known fix. TIA, Frank
frnic
I tried my Plantronics 780 Headset and at first I thought it did not exhibit the symptoms, and while it did last longer this time (1 hour or so) it just started gurgling... sigh, so it is not the HyperX 7.1 sound card driver. frnic
Tried the latest VooDoo and no joy still, some time after working for a while it always ends up "gurgling" or with static - depending on how you want to describe it. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
frnic
Just installed Sierra Dev Beta 4 yesterday and I have not had the problem since. I am not sure, but after a couple hours of testing no problems. And it looks like Apple rewrote the audio system? Lots of hardware is now detected that wasn't detected in beta 3.
