Hello, Im new in this forum , and I need a hackintosh for professional reasons (I am an Android programmer, and I want to learn to program Objective-C and swift).

The list of components that had thought for my new PC is:

- Processor:                    Intel i7-6700K 4.0Ghz Box

- Mother Board:             Asus Z170-P

- SSD (for Windows10 ) Samsung 950 PRO M.2 SSD 512GB

- HD (hackintosh)          500GB Seagate Barracuda SATA 3

- Memory:                       G.Skill Trident Z DDR4 3400 PC4-27200 16GB 2x8GB CL16

- Grafic Card:                 MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti OCV1 2GB GDDR5

I would like to install OSx Capitan, the hardware is fine, or exchange something for it to be 100% compatible, any suggestions?

I hope your answers, thanks in advance.

PS: Excuse my English is not very good .... :P  :P

betwen 1000 and 1200€ , for the "tower or box" (I don´t know, as it is called in English Xdd). The SSD is http://www.pccomponentes.com/samsung_950_pro_m_2_ssd_512gb.html (this is an animal)  :D  :D

Magnifico, I did not read your post well. I had thought to change the hdd for an SSD if I use iOS, but for now I want to try. If I give much use to Hackitosh, I will change the Barracuda for EVO SSD, even if at some point I would consider buying a Mac, anyway thanks for the suggestion.  :thumbsup_anim:

Marco.pisellonio80 good suggestion, thanks to this I can save 40 € and follow the advice of Magnifico and buy a SSD for iOS.

What do you think of the graphics card is a good choice or another you advise? It is 100% compatible?

For now, the list of components is:

Processor:                         Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Box (Save 40€, non -k, Xd)

Mother Board:                  Asus Z170-P

SSD (for Windows10)   Samsung 950 PRO M.2 SSD 512GB

SSD (Hackintosh)  Samsung 750 Evo SSD Series 250GB SATA3  (only 69.95€)

Memory:                 G.Skill Trident Z DDR4 3400 PC4-27200 16GB 2x8GB CL16

Graphic Card:        MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti OCV1 2GB GDDR5

More suggestions are welcome, thank you all!!

Check out the GTX 960 4gb version, sometimes it costs a bit more than 750Ti. Not sure if a bit extra video ram will benefit for what you're doing on the computer, but it is worth to check it out.

Also since you're not Overclocking, it might save you some bucks if you buy H170 board.

And I don't suggest 750 EVO, as it is TLC and doesn't have 40nm chip. (You can read more about SLC, MLC and TLC, if you google it).

Study the Macs that you want your build to be closest to.

And which OS you want to use. Yosemite, El Capitan, Sierra, whatever.

Try to get the same cpus, gpus  and sound cards and wireless or ethernet of what you are trying to copy.

And be aware that you may have to tweak things to work.

With some luck you can even come up with a motherboard that matches what Apple is using.

Well said alaskantraveler.  :thumbsup_anim:

But in this case I'd suggest Z87 or H87, as it is closer to Apple hw. If going for Skylake, I'd recommend H170 with DDR3 RAM and not DDR4, as apple is not using DDR4 with their Skylake iMac. Skylake hacks are also not getting full PM, as Skylake iMac is using a special OS build.

Thank you for all suggestions, Regarding the comment of Dwarfy, the GTX 960 is better than GTX 750 graphics card, but to use that I'll give the PC (is developing) does not deserve me spending 100 € more. Regarding the 750 Evo I have chosen for its price, because in principle it would put a normal HDD. Thank you for your contribution, did not know the difference between SLC, MLC and TLC now yes jeje.

I've been looking H170, and € 9 difference rather buy z170P. Apple is not installed yet DDR4, but I see a delay buy DDR3, especially when my main OS is Windows 10, I don´t  think later much iOS to work with DDR4.
What is Skylake? and .... PM (post meridiam Xdd)? remember that I am Spanish, and rookie Hackingtosh

For now the list of components is:

Processor:                         Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Box (299€)

Mother Board:                  Asus Z170-P  (116€)

SSD (for Windows10)    Samsung 950 PRO M.2 SSD 512GB (368€)

SSD (Hackintosh)           Samsung 750 Evo SSD Series 250GB SATA3  (69.95€)

Memory:                           G.Skill Trident Z DDR4 3400 PC4-27200 16GB 2x8GB CL16  (114€)

Graphic Card:                  MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti OCV1 2GB GDDR5  (116€)

New proposals are accepted !! , If you don´t see something that will give me problems in this budget, I will order Thursday.

Thank you all!!

PM = Power Management

And sorry I didn't know you were Spanish.

Just to clarify, I didn't say 960 is better, though it probably is. It was only the matter of Video ram, if you needed more or not was the question.

When it comes to the SSD, I'd actually still suggest a regular HDD over a SSD with TLC 16nm nand chip. But it is your call to make.

When you say iOS, do you mean MacOS? :)

When I mentioned about DDR 4 in my previous reply, I meant that apple doesn't use DDR 4. This could be because DDR4 is/was unstable. There is no system kext for the DDR4 memory controller in the Skylake chips. Z170 board you want to purchase is Skylake based. However, there is no problem in hacking skylake, many has done it. :)

You need a lot of windows programs to buy a 512 SSD?

You could buy a smaller one and take data on a traditional hard disk. 256 gb SSD is more than enough, I think.

Also, the difference between i7 and (a good) i5 is very very little, unless you don't need full i7 power for long time.

To clarify a bit ,for what I want this computer .. I am a computer engineer, but due to the economic crisis that Spain has suffered, and the city where I live, work Technical High Security (took almost 7 years). To change job, I'm doing a Master Degree of Engineering Mobile Application Development (Basically Android and iOs), I have all year developing in Java, Android, Sql ... On the other hand I have a Dell XPS (i7, SSD 850 EVO 256, 16Gb Ram DDR3 1333, etc.) that has given me very good result, but has almost four years, and my AMD Phenom X6, has given me many problems with virtualization Android, and I not was able  to mount a Hackintosh on this. In my DELL XPS I had no problems to create my hackintosh. My idea is to buy a powerful i7 to develop and sell my AMD Phenom II X6, I do not need much graphics, I need a lot of memory, Processor, a high speed HDD, for the virtual machines. I want a powerful PC for this. Why a Hackitosh ... I want to learn how to develop iOS, my idea is to change jobs next year. Professionally  I would like devote me to develop Android, but you know that native developments for smartphones are often made for Android and iOS. if I see that i have develop a lot of app in iOS, I would have to buy a MAC.

In short, I want a Hackintosh to learn to program in Objective-C and Swift... how I rolled up

Dwarfy  I meant MacOs the master degree is leaving me silly ...

marco.pisellonio80  You're right, with an SSD of 256 GB M2 have enough, and so I bought the EVO 850 for iOS that's what you want.. haha  :P

If you give me your blessing ... The list of components is:

Processor:                         Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Box (299€)

Mother Board:                  Asus Z170-P  (116€)

SSD (for Windows10)    Samsung 950 PRO M.2 SSD 256GB  (212€)

SSD (Hackintosh)           Samsung 850 Evo SSD Series 250GB SATA3   (97€)

Memory:                           G.Skill Trident Z DDR4 3400 PC4-27200 16GB 2x8GB CL16  (114€)

Graphic Card:                  MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti OCV1 2GB GDDR5  (116€)

Thank you all!!

I think the CPU is overpowered for normal users - and quite expensive. The Intel Core i5-6500 is cheaper is almost as good.

If you won't overclock your system, you can save more with a H170 or a B150 board.

Here's a German thread about working skylake hackintoshs:

https://www.hackintosh-forum.de/index.php/Thread/26217-Skylake-Sammelthread-lauff%C3%A4hige-Konfigurationen/?postID=220102#post220102

And here are some more recommended hardware recommendations (aimed for gaming under windows) - just to give you an idea..

I agree, I suggested him H170 as well, but he said he didn't save much on it. He says he's an engineer and needs i7 CPU, as I understood it. However an i5 Quad Core can be good enough. I know many people with the field of programming and engineering using i5 Processor. Oh well, its up to him. But as i understood, he wants to spend as less as he can.

Thank you for your contributions, the truth is that I have really enjoyed your suggestions, and I learned some things I did not know. Regarding the debate on an i5 or i7 for normal use does not appreciate the difference, but when lifting a server, a virtual machine, or emulate something , i see the difference. In fact, the laptop I'm working on is an i7 of 2nd generation 2670QM, and last year I had to change the HDD for Samsung EVO 850, and increase the RAM 6GB to 16GB, because Java Enterprise Beans when i had created applications, and mounted a server on my machine to test the applications, sometimes the laptop is blocked , or took forever to respond. With this configuration I have not had problems .Even it works well OSx Capitan with VM Ware. Yet sometimes I've had some other delay ,or crashes with Android emulators.

To give you a little envious Lol !! , I have already placed my order, and this is what I asked:

Processor:                         Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Box (299€)

Mother Board:                  Asus Z170-P  (116€)

SSD (for Windows10)    Samsung 950 PRO M.2 SSD 256GB  (212€)

SSD (Hackintosh)           Samsung 850 Evo SSD Series 250GB SATA3   (97€)

Memory:                           G.Skill Trident Z DDR4 3400 PC4-27200 16GB 2x8GB CL16  (114€)

Graphic Card:                    Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 OC WindForce 4GB DDR5   (209€)

I also bought some more than anything else, altogether it has left me all around the 1020 €, not bad right? A good investment for the next four years ..

When arrive the components, i will to bother , creating another thread, about how to install  OSx and  Windows 10 with Dual Boot .... I will come back .. haha

Thanks guys and girls !!
