Hi all

I just built my first hackintosh:

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-H170-HD3 ATX Socket 1151

CPU: Intel Skylake Core i5-6600 / 3.3 GHz (Turbo Boost 3.9 GHz) 4 cores Cache Socket, Socket 1151 (BX80662I56600)

RAM: CRUCIAL 16GBx2 32GB Kit, DDR4 2133 MT/s DIMM 288 (CT2K16G4DFD8213)

HD: A 2TB

Cooler: ARCTIC Freezer 7 PRO Rev.2 - 150 W

Power: Corsair CP-9020097-EU VS Series VS550 ATX/EPS 80 PLUS 550W

Case: Corsair Carbide 200R

CD reader: Sony Optiarc 18X SATA DVD-ROM Drives DDU1681S-0B

USB key: 32GB Verbatim Pinstripe

The hardware building was just a breeze.

I installed the little animal stuff on my USB stick just as required.

I set up the UEFI to the best I could since the layout was different from the screen shots I had seen. I hope I did it well.

Selecting the USB as the boot drive wasn't a breeze at all. I had to reformat and reinstall it several times.

I don't have a sHCI mode and I have only one xHCI Hand-off.

Then the boot process starts apparently correctly and then stalls in the middle with the following screen and there goes back to startup screen.

I tried booting in verbose mode by pressing the V key, cmd+V or ctrl+V. It changes nothing.

I reformatted the USB stick and reinstalled it at least a dozen of times.

What to do? Toss the whole gear and forget about it?

Is there another installer that works?

TIA

Nick
