Quinzie XO
Hello everyone, Firstly my system specs: MSI Z77IA-E53 - ALC892 Audio i3-3220 MSI GTX 750Ti 2GB UEFI boot using Clover What works: Mostly everything, see below for small annoyances that need to fixed. Partially working/not working: Speedstep seems wonky. Seems to be missing a few states Sleep issues(see below) Audio issues(see below) FPS seems lower when playing LOL on this. So the main issue, Speed is extremely wonky. System seems to go to sleep(monitor shuts down, blinking power led e.t.c). But waking up from sleep i am faced with a beachball. Further more, sometimes it wakes up to a screen that is verbose like (not a kernel panic dw) Audio has been wonky too. Using clover audio patch. If i play iTunes or even youtube, the sound seems to play for a second then shuts off. It doesn't work after that until the system is not rebooted. Thanks in advance. I can attach the clover folder and pls ask for other details if needed.
Allan
I3-3220 doesn't have Turbo Boost. Sleep, for work you need make sure that all Power Management is configured. Audio, what do you use for enabled your audio? Video, do you have installed Web Drivers?
Quinzie XO
I3-3220 doesn't have Turbo Boost. Sleep, for work you need make sure that all Power Management is configured. Audio, what do you use for enabled your audio? Video, do you have installed Web Drivers? I think i have power management configured. But would you please guide me through what to check? For audio, After installing clover, i used a file called "audio_cloverALC-110_v1.0r10.command". It did detect my card and asked for audio id for which i selected 1. Audio was working perfectly before, but i am guessing that trying to get sleep working somehow broke it. For video, yes, i have web drivers for my yosemite build from nvidia website. Installed using the usual stuff from clover (nvda=1 after driver install) Please download my clover folder zip from here: https://www.sendspace.com/file/57t9km Maybe you could check it if you want Thanks a lot Allan! Appreciate the help
Allan
NP bro For we check about Power Management, post a copy of your IOReg here. I did a little cleaning, try this: Clover EFI - Cleaned.zip
Quinzie XO
Okay so i got mixed results.. If i boot UEFI then i get suck at boot with this image: https://www.sendspace.com/filegroup/uRJld5nLDXIQeuWJe%2Bjxmg File name is: image1.jpg But i if i boot in in Legacy Mode then i get to desktop and audio seems to be working perfectly now! What changes did you make? Also uhm everytime i start iTunes it says "your iTunes volume is turned all the way down" I have to manually increase it then, why does it do this on every reboot ? In regards to sleep, Still Broken. When i boot in BIOS and try to put on sleep, pc goes in low power state as expected (with blinking Power LED) I've attached what i get on waking up. When i tried it the second time round, my mouse pointer with a black screen showed up then i got a balling beachball and i had to reset manually. https://www.sendspace.com/filegroup/uRJld5nLDXIQeuWJe%2Bjxmg File name is: image2.jpg As you asked for the IOREG: Ive attached it too. There are two IOREGS. One with your clover and one with mine. Kunal’s iMac_allanClover.ioreg Thanks a lot and hope those are not to many questions at once. Allan
Power Management in IOReg - Ok About sleep, run this code: pmset -g | grep hibernatemode And post the result here. How did you installed Clover in UEFI? Your machine will be better with this way.

The result: Last login: Thu May 19 20:12:32 on console Kunals-iMac:~ kunalshah$ pmset -g | grep hibernatemode hibernatemode 0 For UEFI, I have two USB Drives and one has the Legacy Clover while another one has UEFI. Figured if i changed the EFI folders with the one you gave me, it should work.. So depending on what i want to test (BIOS or UEFI, i plug in the USB and use that as a boot loader). On the main OS X partition i have it installed as BIOS and not UEFI.
Allan
What? You mean: BIOS = Legacy UEFI = UEFI right?

Allan
If you have installed Clover in HDD as Legacy doesn't matter, you can use UEFI boot. Just format the EFI HDD partition and copy/paste the folder that i've sent for you. But you need make sure that the OS X partition is GPT/GUID. Follow this awesome guide: UEFI multi boot with Clover

Follow this awesome guide: UEFI multi boot with Clover Hello, So i did manage to reinstall my system and use only UEFI mode. The sleep issue still persists. Only that, now when i put the pc to sleep, it sleeps perfectly but when i wake it up, there is a black screen with a mouse (that can be moved, the beachball seems to have gone away). Is there any solution for this black screen with mouse thing ? Thanks
Allan
How did you enabled Nvidia?
Quinzie XO
How did you enabled Nvidia? okay so during install in clover boot options i used nv_disable=1 to get through the install and reach the desktop. Once i set up sound using that alc command, then in installed web drivers that is supported by my yosemite build(14F1808). Once i installed the drivers, i changed clover boot options i used nvda_drv=1 and i had graphics working then.

Allan
Are injected as "no", it's right. Maybe you can do a test changing to "Yes" and see if you keep problems with Sleep.

Sorry, what did you mean ? Am i meant to change something in clover boot options or config.plist ? Thanks EDIT: I changed the no to yes and now sleep PARTIALLY works. If i click sleep, the monitor goes blank but the pc stays on(Fan running as usual on medium-full speed and no blinking led as well). So atleast the screen turns off now! If i leave it on no then it sleeps but i keep getting black screen with mouse after wake from sleep...
