Hello everyone,

so i managed to install yosemite on my vaio,

it is using guide from here.

i just realize everything working, even the camera and the volume is working, however i can't get the battery working.....

okay so the problem is i can't fix the battery problem, the symptoms is :

  • sometimes it's just having X logo on battery
  • sometimes it's having plugins but not moving (the electricity logo inside battery icon)
  • and now its just showing 0% and not moving, even when i plugged in to AC adapter

so i want to ask, (and yes this question is in so many forums) how on earth to make my battery working ?

because my prosy is intel 3337u i5 1.8 Ghz, (it's an ivy bridge its a problem right ?, correct me please ?)

i read before that i should do something with acpi battery driver ? but what should i do ? there's no kext file inside the compressed file from rehab.

the problem is that not i want to read, but i just got 0 in coding and stuffs, so guys how can i get easily understand the guide ? or hcan you guys provide for a much simple steps to do the dsdt. i didn't do my ssdt bcs i think that's unnecessary. once again pls correct me if I'm wrong.

for additional information i use clover (latest patch) for my boot loader.

and then i put my patched dsdt in EFI/Clover/acpi/patched and origins

but i don't know how to determine the dsdt that i used currently. bcs before this my dsdt file it's just empty.

okay i know that i should attached the dsdt ? but regarding to my previous statements, idk which one that i am using....

so guys, i would appreciate any kind of helps here. thanks in advance

For battery icon, you can use RehabMan's kext: ACPIBatteryManager

If even with this kext, you can't see the icon, maybe you'll need apply some patches in your DSDT.

Hello allan, thanks for lighting me up, and if i may ask any question what patches exactly do i need for my dsdt ?

Thanks for your reply

Try the kext first...

If DSDT will need to be used, we have a guide for that.

hello again allan, and thanks for your tips, it is showing now.

i tried other ppl dsdt but, it's just made a load of mess....

but it's no fully functional guess i have to do something with dsdt then ?

Thanks for your time allan :D

Never use an DSDT from another Hacks, is not the same thing.

For use an DSDT from other PC, you'll need make sure that all Dev/Ven ID is the same, e.g: WiFi controller, Ethernet port, RAM, CPU, etc and etc...

Just try what i told you...

DSDT is necessary for especific things, not for every issue. The amazing thing in Clover, is that you can solve your issues without patch DSDT by yourself.

But first, delete this modified DSDT that you got, and just install the kext that i told you, and let's see if you get the battery icon and status.

If the kext can't do the job alone, you'll extract your DSDT and apply some patches.

For extract DSDT and read all about it, see the links bellow.

DSDT/SSDT: Basic knowledge
DSDT/SSDT: Edit using MacIASL
DSDT/SSDT: Common DSDT patches
DSDT/SSDT: Enable battery by patching your DSDT using pre-made patches ( Laptop-exclusive )

hello

final post about this issue .. now really not a issue ..

i think u should read about what u are trying to do .. hack os x in a lappy not easy ..

no easy solutions .. u must read about ur hardware .. how to setup ur boot loader .. easy words reading .. googling .. persistency ...

what u are trying to do .. easy words .. is copy a mac hardware .. MacBook Pro.. something .. MacBook Air .. something ..

if u hardware is equal one of that .. u are with luck .. if is not .. u can try and get a hack with limitations ..

something never will work like a mac ..

regards from Portugal

good hack
