aznracer
Aznracer, I've just tried a fresh 10.4.7 install but still nothing. I had to use VMware for the install though but i don't think that matters (runs native after the install). I've tried to find out whether the Sony VGN-TX750 definately has an ALC260 but couldn't get any info. Can you remember if you installed any additional patches other than combo update and SSE2 patch? I'm on a Sony VGN-A417M with Intel i915 chipset (details attached). Could you please send a screengrab of your cpu-z results or just post them so i can work out where the spec differs? Asgirl69, i'm already using windows bootloader with chain0 command so no luck there. I will however try a 10.4.5 Myzar iso too, just in case. Could you please also post your cpu-z results for me to compare? Many thanks. I used the JaS 10.4.7 DVD and it work right out of the box. Heres my AppleAzaliaAudio.kext. Remove the AppleHDA.kext before install and repair permissions. http://home.comcast.net/~le894/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext.zip

analslutgirl69
I had the same problem, but I have the XT version of ur gfx card in my pc. I never managed to fix it, but i think there is a fix for the pro version here: http://installers.dl.am/ It would be worth making sure though. I also had the problem where i didn't get any sound. I never managed to fix this either (i have usb speakers so they work) but it may be different for you. this forum is prolly the best place to look, although the osx86 wiki is good. have a look at their compatability lists. Their home page is: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page Those are the only things i can think of. sorry. I could neverget my pc working 100% so i switched to my laptop. good luck
plonka2000
From the history this thread seemed to be going somewhere but it now seems to be quite dead. Is anyone had any luck or got anywhere with the ALC260 audio card? Thanks. plonka2000.

Your best bet is Taruga's HDA solution if and when it works. I got mine to work fairly easily. Though is only 2 speakers output. Use AppleAzelia kext and replace the Hardware and Vendor ID. Then delete AppleHDA kext (back it up first). It works. If you want a copy of my kext let me know. hle500
Hi guys. For your files, I have a Fujitsu Lifebook s7020 with ALC260. Sound works out of the box with JAS Tiger 10.4.6, only on embedded speakers. NO way to have headphones and mic. When I upgraded to 10.4.8 (always JAS), sound stopped working. SAme for Ethernet. So I came back to 10.4.6. Wireless doesn't. Ethernet works putting MAC Address manually in
kizwan
@kizwan - Hi there. Got your PM's and here's all the info that you asked for that will hopefully help you solve my dilemma... Unfortunately the last driver that you supplied me (Alpha2) doesn't do anything either...Here's the config of my laptop... - Internal speaker - Jack (Green) Headphone port - Jack (Pink) Microphone port I've attached a zip file that contains the System.log's for the 3 drivers that you have provided for me so far, and also the kext that you asked for that works under 10.5.2. In addition I've added the codec dump that I use with Taruga's v1.20 patcher under 10.5.2. As you'll see that codec dump doesn't even match the one that I managed to output using Knoppix, so you'll see the dilemma I'm having If you need anything else, then please let me know & again thanks very much for you help Hi egnm1969, So, you don't have 2 jack for microphone & one jack for line in? Referring to knoppix codec dump, you do have it but that does not mean you have it "physically". Please try this two set of drivers. Try one by one. I have remove all input devices except SPDIF In because I don't think it will works. Driver "Alpha3_Sub1" contain line out & headphone out while "Alpha3_Sub2" contain only line out. http://www.mediafire.com/?q5xmotojgzr http://www.mediafire.com/?ygtrfkfa1ax Hi kizwan! I'm glad to see that im not alone! I have same problem with Sony VGN-FJ3SR ALC260 sound on board. Worked (with targa patch 1.20 - only headphones silmeanosly with speakers, no mics no line-in) before i change ideneb 1.3 10.5.5 to XXX 10.5.6. After applayn patch on 10.5.6 - kernel panic... And begin my story... I try also your kexts with - and out modifications (i try change pinkconfig, i use binar patch AppleHDA found 3d6202ec10 - replase with 3d6002ec10 and ets..) =0 I see in systemlog: kernel[0]: Sound assertion "0 != setupHostInterrupt ()" failed in "/SourceCache/AppleHDA/AppleHDA-162.1.37/AppleHDAController/AppleHDAController.cpp" at line 253 goto Exit . Tarugas patch use old HDA ver 1.4 (exist insade patch) On this version kext AppleHDAController anather then in yurs relise 1.6.2a37! In older version needed insert IOPCIPrimaryMatch - vendorID 0x26688086. In new relise i cannot found it... Or next point - relise 10.5.5. and 10.5.6. difer applesmbios - EFI! Maybe problem from that way... I tray diferent smbios - not result!! This my dumps mandriva linux, vista pinconfig , svg file... Battle continue! Sory for my bad english - i am russian man - french spoken.... Hi bobbygun, I will make your driver as soon as egnm1969 get his ALC260 working. I can only try to get your output working because input devices on ALC260 don't have audio mixer connected with it. kizwan
kizwan
@bobbygun, Please test this driver & let me know if it is working or not. I'm concentrating at your internal speaker & headphone. http://www.mediafire.com/?pu2txcpj1xl kizwan

egnm1969
@kizwan - Hi again. OK I've tried the 2 new drivers, but again... no luck. Nothing appears either in the Sound Preference in System Preferences either. Just in case you wanted to see them, I've taken copies of the System.log's and I've added them to this post, so hopefully it can shed some more light on this dilemma... Good luck Latest_Log_Files.zip

bobbygun
Hi kizwan! I use AppleSMBIOSEFI with command line in apple.boot.plist memorytype=19 memoryspeed=400, else in my system info memory speed was = 0! and now ok. Realy SMBIOSResolver and AppleSMBIOSEFI same things? AppleSMBIOSResolver exist in ma extension folder, but after removing - nothing change. I try before different smbios - like that AppleSMBIOS-27rev3-667 AppleSMBIOS-AnV-MacPro..., but SMBIOSResolver it's pach for kernel... Maybe frash instal help me to resolve this problem? I see your hdakext dont use this information: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=127227 I you sure it not needed? It look like your AppleSMBIOS.kext is not original/vanilla. You need to use original AppleSMBIOS.kext. What is your leopard version? If it is Leopard 10.5.6 you can replace your AppleSMBIOS.kext with the original one that I include here. Original_10.5.6_AppleSMBIOS.zip The value in pin configuration (the one you highlighted) are need to be replace with correct value. For example all Sequence value should be 0. Please read THe KiNG How To for more information. kizwan

THe KiNG How To i have read many times and other - but 253 more power that ones! I have a question: I try differnt pin siquence in AppleHDAController - error 253 always! If i place only 1 sequence type: 00F71C20 00F71D41 00F71E21 00F71F01 and edit AppleHDAPlatformDriver only one output - this workable combination? kizwan
I replase applesmbios with your original-error 253 still on the place! THe KiNG How To i have read many times and other - but 253 more power that ones! I guess error 253 was not related with AppleSMBIOS but it is true that you need original AppleSMBIOS. I have a question: I try differnt pin siquence in AppleHDAController - error 253 always! If i place only 1 sequence type: 00F71C20 00F71D41 00F71E21 00F71F01 and edit AppleHDAPlatformDriver only one output - this workable combination? Version iPC 10.5.6 and i have also XxX_86, kernell Voodoo 9.5.0 You can try that & let me know if it is working or not. I also include here the files that I generated using your linux codec dump. Please take a look in the codec_verbs.txt file to learn what correction did I apply to the original pin configuration. ALC260_bobbygun_files.zip If you read carefully the THe KiNG How To, you will find that Sequence value is always 0 in OS X. You will see in the codec_verbs.txt file, I changed 00F71C1F to 00F71C10. I also need to fix Misc value where if in the linux codec dump (node Pin Complex) stated that "Misc = NO_PRESENCE", that mean Misc is 1, 2 or 3. If there is no "Misc = NO_PRESENCE" in the node Pin Complex, Misc is always 0. You will see in the codec_verbs.txt file, I changed 01271D98 to 01271D90. There is also other value that I need to correct & all of that you can refer to the codec_verbs.txt file. I don't really know what error 253 means. I'm guessing that it caused by other thing but I don't know what was it. kizwan
