Rammjet
so i dont need to add anyother kext like r2 or something? It's in the kernel. wich one would be the name for my second hd? Volume2? and my partition is called Xlabs .... any help? Your boot partition is named: /(name-of-osx-partition) All other partitions even on a 2nd hard drive are: /Volumes/(name-of-partition)

miggi
I also have the ASRock Conroe945G-DVI board and a E6300 core 2 duo. I installed jas 10.4.6, applied the official apple 10.4.8 update, copied the mach_kernel and AppleSMB.kext from mifki, removed the AppleHDA (for getting onboard sound), repaired permissions and regenerated the kernel extension cache and rebooted. without single user mode i'm getting a "diskarb isn't ready yet,we'll try again soon" message repeated some times followed by a reboot. I single user mode I can start the network, but booting into GUI comes up with a kernel panic "vm_page_lookup (object,offset)=VM_PAGE_NULL" JaS said that perhaps R*D* isn't working properly... perhaps we need to install decrypted binaries to getinto GUI also with mifki's kernel and not only with semthex's one. I read it to late, I'm actually restoring my primary hd from a usb one with ditto...
kossi
Core 2 Duo 6300 plus Conroe945G-DVI working here with new mifki kernel ... But my system runs way to fast ... The clock runs faster than normal. I read on hackint0sh.org that this kernel is fixed to FSB200 and this would be the reason causing this problem. I'ld try to compile the source of it with 266 instead of 200 but I don't know where to get the "magic keys". kossi @ NeoPheus If you want some help in german, just let me know I'm on icq, msn and aim PS.: I'm now running the new system about half an hour and the system clock is about 15min fast
zam
kossi: I have the same problem on the same hardware. I guess we could also try out semthex's kernel, but on the other hand our hardware DOES support all the necessary features, so it would be logical to stay with as little patched kernel as possible. These new kernels seem to still need some work. It's not fun to see the gui crashing while trying to open "About this mac", or to be forced to underclock from 266 -> 200 in order to get the clock working I also don't have an idea how to compile either of the kernels, or how to acquire the "magic poem" or 10.4.8 decrypts ... but I certainly would like to help testing new versions of the kernels. erikk
zam: did you get higher score when you run your core2duo at normal speed? or will that increase the score? cause i think your score is very good and should be the normal score for 1,8 ghz core2duo and i will try to make a fresh install. with old kernel i get nearly the same results like you now, but with new kernel my system will be much slower. what you mean with clock runs faster? you mean the time clock? TopazBar
fixed FSB to 133. it yielded 93.92, and 94.03. well, it still broke the ceiling, but by very small improvment. kossi
@erikk Yeah for a 1,8ghz core 2 duo but that's only the bench of his underclocked E6600 I'm not gonna try to underclock my c2d ... It wouldn't be that hard to compile the mifki patched source of the kernel, but I only have the ready kext of c3po's little helper. @zam Yeah you're right man, I also wanna stay with mifki's kernel because our really nice cpu does support all this stuff kossi
