Kernel panic appleacpiplatformexpert : start failed

I just upgraded my intel core 2 duo setup to a z97 a usb 3.1 with 4790k. When I try try to boot off of my installed El Capitan drive or installer I get the following the kernel panic listed above.

This normally means you have a wrong SMBIOS for your system, and you are not using the right patches for your processor to run MacOSX.

Take a look at the Clover bootloader, with its various kernel CPU patches. That may most likely solve your issue.


You should figure out what generation of CPU you have (Haswell, Sandy Bridge, etc) and apply the appropriate Clover patch.


Also you have El Capitan, and as you know there are many USB changes. MAybe you should generate new ACPI tables and patch them again. Hardware changes require new ACPI tables, so your build functions correctly
