sjames
I am a new member, new to Hackintosh-ing altogether, but I'd love to try and get involved and get my machine up and running. I have a 2014 build Dell XPS 8700. I have: i7-4790 CPU 3.60 GHz 24 GB RAM AMD Raedon R9 200 series Graphics card 256 GB SSD on integrated mSATA on motherboard 2 TB HDD SATA 2TB External via USB Windows 10 64-bit Operating System I've been trying to build a Hackintosh for several months now based on different tutorials I have found online, but I can not seem to get all of the pieces to fit. If anyone is able to give me a succinct walk-through, and maybe even hold my hands through a few steps, I would really appreciate it.If more information on my PC is needed, please let me know. sjames
OK I have my USB made and I am able to boot into Clover, but when I select to boot from USB, I end up in a boot loop. The only text on the screen between reboots to Clover is: OsxAptioFixDrv: Starting overrides for .IABootFiles\boot.efi Using relic block: yes, hibernate wake: no Did I completely screw up, or just something little? Try to Remove OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi from EFI /Clover /drivers64UEFI and use OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi If this not working Mount EFI and Delete your EFI Folder on the USB EFI Partition / Unmount EFI try to restart the Program / Post Installer / Select your USB Drive / Menue / Bootloader / Select Clover ESP thats it This will change the Boot for ESP Mode , its a Legacy Clover but on EFI Partition Or you can restart the USB Installer from scratch and Select Clover ESP

It didn't work with all of them checked.

sjames
UPDATE: I got El Cap installed and running on one of my hard drives. I am not, however, having much luck getting OS X to boot without the install USB. I am also unable to get sound or wifi to work. Bluetooth will detect other devices, but it will not connect. My mouse pointer can sometimes be very sporadic. I'd love to figure out the changes I need to make to make this stable. Thanks
sjames
I just sorted the booting. I hope I didn't completely screw anything up, but it seems to work. I mounted USB's EFI partition and copied the files in the EFI folder. I then mounted the HDD's EFI partition and replaced the files with the ones from the USB. sjames
Good morning I'm not sure if you still need help but I probably El Capitan HD method and I have successfully installed on a Dell XPS 8700 4790. Everything is working except for FaceTime and iMessage with a geek bench score 15,000 I have mine running pretty smoothly for the most part. However, I still can't get sound to work, do you have a solution for that? Also, Wifi? I geek benched about the same. 4010 and 15002 Apparently Hackintoshes are quite particular about their wireless cards, which also effects FaceTime, iMessage and Handoff. I suspect if I get a correct card, those issues would be resolved, but I can live without those.
