Mac-OS-X-10.4.7-AMD.Intel-(JaS)-ISO-Repack Install Hangs - Please Help!

Hello,

I am trying to install Mac-OS-X-10.4.7-AMD.Intel-(JaS)-ISO-Repack.iso to VMWare Workstation 5.5.2 build 29772.

When the install starts it pegs the cpu to 100% and "freezes" just after the screen resolution change. Typically around the time the words "ACPI: Button driver prevents system sleep" are displayed. Sometimes it gets further and sometimes it doesn't even get that far.

VMWare Workstation 5.5.2 build 29772

Ideas, thoughts, help?

Many, many, thanks...I want to use the OS for a bit before dropping all that money on a top end mac.

Cheers.

This release is supposed to be the INTEL and AMD versions, is there a different version you recommend?

I am able to get a Maxxus release 10.4.5 to boot in VMWare, but not Jas 10.4.7 which I had hoped to then upgrade to 10.4.8.

btw. this is a Asus iLife motherboard bought within the last year.

If I was getting an error, then I could google, but this just appears to peg the cpu and hang.

Any way to turn on logging or further debug this install to try and pinpoint the issue?

Thanks to anyone that can help!!!

SAM Multimedia means that it is having trouble reading the iso. If you are reading from the iso file, make sure to mount the iso as a virtual drive using Daemon Tools or something. If you are reading from a DVD, try burning the DVD at the slowest speed possible.

okay, burned the iso to dvd and was able to install it from the physical dvd even though the mounted iso was giving me issues.

New Problem :D

After install it won't boot into the OS, just get this message very time:

"The CPU has been disabled by the guest operating system. You will need to power off or reset the virtual machine at this point."

Any ideas where to go from here?

My cpu does support SSE2 & SSE3

Thanks!

the patch? was there something I was supposed to do that I didn't?

help?

Thanks!

During the installation. step 4 you can select install.

But before you select install you can add some extra software or stuff (like the intel and amd path) once you've selected it you can click install.

greet (let me know how it turns out.)

1. download Daemon Tools

2. mount the .iso using Daemon Tools (tray icon).

You will see a new (virtual) CDROM-drive appearing at 'This Computer.'

3. in VMWare ----> virtual machines preferences ------> choose native CD ----> choose the new (virtual) CDROM Drive

4. boot
