i put it in the second X16 slot. it shows up in windows device manager, but the drive i plugged in isn't showing up. but the drive is a mac drive. though i have paragon to read it. but maybe the external is a raid or something that windows won't recognize.

in any case, i tried booting into mac os and what happens is after clover boot screen the screen turns black. and if i hit enter or probably any key when it's black, it just goes back to clover boot menu as if nothing else was done.

here's my KP screen. i see a reference to IOPCIFamily.kext

should i replace or patch this kext?  Yosemite boots just fine with it, without TB connected. but if it needs to be replaced or altered for TB to work i just need to figure out what to do.

  • 1 month later...

I have a similar problem: System boots fine with the Thunderbolt card not installed.  I checked in Windows and yes, I can see the card and I even connected an external drive to it, and in Windows 8.1, the drive showed up.

But OSXAptIOfix (Clover 3332) blows up if the card is installed, and they system won't load.

I've had the same problem with my ASUS X99-E WS and i could only get it fixed with using the version of OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi attached to this post.

Whenever i used the one installed with CLOVER, i will get the same error and system wont load.

So give the attached one a try and replace the one pre-installed in EFI/EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI...
