BeanR
Hi guys, I'm brand new to the Hackintosh scene. I want to build a Hackintosh, but I realized that most of the lists compiled online are of super expensive gear and $200 motherboards and what not, but I have done some research and I came across some hardware that's cheaper and should work like a charm. Here is my list of hardware: MOBO: MSi Z97 PC Mate CPU: Intel Core i3-4330 GPU: Sapphire Dual-X Radeon R9 270X OC RAM: Corsair XMS3 DDR3 RAM 1333MHz 2x4GB(8GB) WiFi Card: TP-Link TL-WDN4800 HDD/SSD: Toshiba Disk Drive 250GB (Stripped this out of my Late 2009 MacBook when I upgraded it to an SDD. Picture posted below.) What do you guys think? According to my research and to the articles I've read, all these parts should be compatible and run smoothly. I don't want anything that's overkill or super amazing, what I'm going to use this build is as follows: Super light gaming (CSGO, Starcraft, Diablo 3), internet surfing (videos on youtube), graphic design (photoshop cs6) and other miscellaneous things like word processing and what not. I'm open to suggestions, I only provided the important stuff as I will choose a PSU and case later on. If you guys there's cheaper alternatives to any of those posted above let me know! Also one more question, I've been looking around to see if the XFX Radeon HD5770 is compatible with OS10 at all, I've come around articles on it but they don't quite answer my question. I have this card and it's just sitting collecting dust. It's still pretty good for light gaming and I don't mind putting it to use! Thanks for your time. - Reynaldo
Maniac10
The 5770 should work OOB with El Cap, I used mine up to Yosemite until it died and upgraded to the (apparently) same 270X Dual-X you've chosen. The 270X works practically OOB too, you only need to set the framebuffer to "Radeon" cause it's "glitchy" with the default one.
