Gigabyte Gtx960 is not compatible !

Hello everyone :)

I bought a few days ago Gigabyte Gtx960 4GB GDDR5

Unfortunately when I mount it on the computer, and I turn it on, do not exceed the bios and freeze (the motherboard also 4 beeps 1 "long" and then three fast)

Reading around it turned out that the video card requires a version of Bios 8. #, while my bios is upgradeable up to 7.12.

My current motherboard is: ipisb-ch2 (chicago), my pc I bought some time ago and is a Hp pavilion 1010it, the pieces are not changed only the processor and the motherboard.

Now as I mount a Gtx 650 video card and it all works perfectly.

Having a socket 1155, and not wanting to change everything, is there any motherboard that supports me the current configuration:

4x4GB DDR3 RAM

GTX 960 4GB GDDR5 (which I would mount)

PCI: AzureWave AW-CE123H / 802.11ac / n / b / g + Bluetooth 4.0 / half-size PCI-Express MiniCard (optional, I now mount with adapter)

Processor: Intel Core i7 2600

Power Supply: Corsair 650W

surfing the internet I found this:

Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H (rev. 1.0)

but not to make another purchase useless, just ask if it is compatible with the rest: /

(Of course I try something for which my hackintosh compatible) [i know I'll change the kext]

Thanks for a possible answer

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm not saying that they dont work - but it is fact that they (generaly) don't work as well as Asus, MSI or Asrock motherboards.

I have to say vice versa Gigabyte is much better for Hackintosh then Asus and MSI. I have 8 years experience....
