I'm looking for some advice on connecting multiple fans to a Gigabyte X99 UD4 which I plan to Overclock the CPU to 4.3Mhz

My setup

Fractal Define R5 Case

Gigsbyte X99 UD4 Motherboard

Intel Core I7 5820k CPU

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 2400 Memory

Corsair RM750i PSU

Noctua NH D15S 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler (including additional Noctua NF A15 PWM 140mm fan)

Noctua NF A14 PWM 140mm

Noctua NF A14 PWM 140mm

In total there are 6 fans which includes the 2 stock Fractal Case fans

Would it be safe to use the Noctua's supplied Y cable splitter to connect 2 fans to 1 fan header on the motherboard ?

I have heard that you can burn out the boards header this way if not careful ?

Can anyone advise ?

Many Thanks

4.3mhz ?!!? :D

slower than a gameboy!

just joking, btw yes you can connect the splitter to run multiple fans, but don't you care about the noise?!? it's going to be a pretty loud PC!

why don't you get one of those cheap (50$) liquid cooler to use just one fan for the cpu and a couple for case cooling?

Hi thanks for your help

I was originally going to go for a liquid cooler but after reading up on the different types of coolers, the Noctua D15s results where in the high end of good liquid coolers plus no worry of leakages.. Apparently they're very quiet
