Smallersen
I just installed the very fresh security update on my Yosemite 10.10.05 Asus x99 Deluxe i7 5960x via normal App store update function. Kernel panic so far after restart, no boot. As far as I could see the update exchanged AppleACPIPlatform.kext and IOPCIFamily.kext. Putting back the former versions of this kext did no solve the problem. Had to go back via Time Machine from my backup-volume. Does sombody know what to do after the update? Smallersen
I spend some time and I got System 10.10.5 14F1509 now running on my x99 5960x, but I didn´t check everything till now. Geekbench is 4.500/35.500 as before. Power management is working again, USB 3 ports seem fine. Really a lot of kexts are changed with this security update, about 50. As the GTX 660 TI is natively supported by Mac OS there was no graphics problem, I just disabled Nvidia Web driver before updating. My external Behringer audio device does not need a driver. I had to roll back AppleACPIPlatform.kext and IOPCIFamily.kext. Because I use SMBIOS Mac Pro 6,1 in Clover there was the boot problem. I had to apply the patch to AppleGraphicsControl.kext again: Contents/PlugIns/AppleGraphicsDevicePolicy.kext/Contents/Info.plist after F60DEB81FF30ACF6 change "Config1" to "none". Patching the Nvidia Installer WebDriver-346.02.03f03.pkg Distribution file (with Flat Package Editor) it was possible to install the older driver on the 14F1509 system, just over the former WebDriver. After changing the system check in NVDAStartup.kext from 14F1505 to 14F1509 it was possible to enable the driver. The driver didn´t load after the first reboot, just after second boot. Cinebench OpenGL result did not change with the new WebDriver, still 120, okay for this GPU.
