But I admit, I do not know where the offense is.

May those patches not be shared?

No, is the opposite, just follow his will and its License: https://pikeralpha.wordpress.com/license/

If I made a mistake, then I'm sorry. This was not intentional.

If necessary, I delete everything in my posts.

There's no need, just always add him to shared patches if they comes from him as per his License. Is easy and fast thing ;) .

EDIT

I cannot reply to Pike as Moderator outside this Forum, as I believe is right (also I can't), but our Rules already provide for this (will of Developers, copyrighted materials, opensource etc), and it is our intention that this is respected, just need collaboration :) .

Yes. With the newest Version.

Need this to get vectors load.

Thanks, perhaps you can go back and edit your original post with a succinct numbered list of what needs to be done?

i.e.

1. Three patches

xcpm_bootstrap 10.11.6 © Pike R. Alpha
find 83C3BB83FB09
replace 83C3B883FB09

cpuid_set_info 10.11.6 © Pike R. Alpha
find 5D7F288D48BB83F902
replace 5D7F288D48B883F902

reboot fix 10.11.6 © Pike R. Alpha
find 554889E5415741564155415453504189D64189F74889FB4585FF0F84
replace C34889E5415741564155415453504189D64189F74889FB4585FF0F84

2. FrequencyVectorEdit.sh (on a MacPro6,1 SMBIOS targeting iMac14,2, I assume?) https://github.com/Piker-Alpha/freqVectorsEdit.sh

3. Remove NullCPUPowerManagement & any FakeCPUID.

4. Disable EIST in BIOS (Ai Tweaker, Internal CPU Management, Disable Intel Enhanced Speedstep)

5. Oh, and have Clover 36xx? installed. What is the minimum version? I used 3688: https://sourceforge.net/projects/cloverefiboot/

6. Have a CPU SSDT from SSDTPRGen: https://github.com/Piker-Alpha/ssdtPRGen.sh    (not strictly necessary so long as you have x86 Platform and Shim loading from some method)

Edit: Ah, found another one.

7. in the BIOS, set Ati Tweaker->CPU Core Ratio to Sync All Cores, then Auto for the snyc'ed value (or if overclocking, set to your value). If you do not do this, then no turbo (when not overclocking) frequencies will be hit.

With those changes I now get completely flat IPG readouts (!) while benchmarking, but my scores are still low. Multi-core are still 25% lower on Cinebench/GB with this method versus my own earlier method.

Presumably my SSDT needs some love?    No, I needed to do #7. It was pegged at non-turbo states without it.

Edit: After finding #7, I now have the flatest performance in Cinebench/GB with IGP that I have seen to date with Haswell-EP in MacOS. Performance in Cinebench is identical to my previous method, but GB went up by 1800. I was already using a method that did 2-7, but Pike's three patches greatly aid in keeping turbo constant and flat.

Thanks Pike! Hope those random reboots are gone with this method. Temps seem ~5C cooler as well.

This patch is based on this post from Pike:

Kernel location:

0x1f6190 replace 0x55 with C3 (sub_ffffff80003f6190:)

0x1f54b7 replace 0xBB with B8 (B8 for Haswell-E (_xcpm_bootstrap:)

0x1bc276 replace 0xBB with B8 (B8 for Haswell-E _cpuid_set_info:)

Do you know what the equivalent would be for 10.10.5?

You are not going to believe this, but I have the same mother board (5960X) and you don´t need any USB kext.

The USB ports works directly in 10.11.6 and last 10.12

I suspect this is happening in some other boards

I don´t need:

X99_Injector,

AHCIPortInjector,

AHCI_Intel_Generic_SATA,

The OSX makes everything work correctly...

Your Bluetooth won´t work, but you just need a tiny piece of kext to make it work...

Thanks, perhaps you can go back and edit your original post with a succinct numbered list of what needs to be done?

i.e.

1. Three patches

xcpm_bootstrap 10.11.6 © Pike R. Alpha
find 83C3BB83FB09
replace 83C3B883FB09

cpuid_set_info 10.11.6 © Pike R. Alpha
find 5D7F288D48BB83F902
replace 5D7F288D48B883F902

reboot fix 10.11.6 © Pike R. Alpha
find 554889E5415741564155415453504189D64189F74889FB4585FF0F84
replace C34889E5415741564155415453504189D64189F74889FB4585FF0F84

2. FrequencyVectorEdit.sh (on a MacPro6,1 SMBIOS targeting iMac14,2, I assume?) https://github.com/Piker-Alpha/freqVectorsEdit.sh

3. Remove NullCPUPowerManagement

Temps seem ~5C cooler as well.

strange, for me doing all those steps not bumping up any GB results still around 22k (in my 10.12 build i reach 28k - same settings)

the things is also with the settings i don't get sleep to work but when disabling the patch and using NullCPU I get sleep with no issues, xcpm is loaded, x86 Platform and Shim loading as well...am i missing something?

Has anyone worked this out for 10.11? Or are you all on 10.12?

My post with instructions is for 10.11.6.

@ergot, Did you install the latest version of Clover? I have only two builds, both Xeons, and this method results in full CPU performance in both. Although, oddly, for my 12-core 2.8Ghz Xeon, I am stuck at 3.1GHz (the max all core turbo) all the time.

yes, sysctl -n machdep.xcpm.mode returning 1 shows ist.

And Intel power gadget shows 10W idle, and full load when running Geekbench.

Scores are the same as before with FAKECPUID und NULLCPUPM.

You can use a Hexeditor to find the Kernel HEX Code, then copy an paste the HEX string to clover and patch the location with the calculated HEX.

Pike posted: 0x1bc276 replace 0xBB with 0xB3 (_cpuid_set_info:)for i7 6900k

-> 0xBB - 0x08 = 0xB3 and so for Haswell-E i tried 0xBB - 0x03 = 0xB8

and it worked for me :D

same, but other position and HEX string, worked for Sierra.

Can you link to the pike post where he shows these replacements? All I can find on his blog is the post for Sierra which quotes different locations.

How did you get the locations for 10.11.6?

So some of this stuff is way over my head and I apologize if I come off completely ignorant, but can the above method be applied to the Broadwell-E 6900K? I just swapped out my 5960X because my MicroCenter "warranty" was about to expire (it's basically a trade-in plan for the newest upgrade for $100).  What would I need to change within the above 3 patches? What Frequency Vectors would I want to choose?  Thanks in advance!

PikerAlpha does with a 6850K

So I guess that 6900K, it goes also

it uses smbios MacPro6,1

Do you know what the equivalent would be for 10.10.5?

You are right, i don´t need the AHCI kexts. Thx!

But without the USB injector, all my USB ports only work with 2.0 speed?

And all connected devices shown under USB 2.0 Bus, the USB 3.0 Bus is empty?

yes, Broadwell-E also works. Pike R. Alpha used a 6850K CPU.

You can find all this patches and instructions on his page. https://pikeralpha.wordpress.com

What i did was only read his blog and made some tests with all the HEX patches he found.

First i used a HEX Editor and patched my kernel,

and now we can make all this patches using Clover (since Rev. 3661).

You only need other HEX code, you have to replace B8 with B3. Thx. to Pike R. Alpha!

https://pikeralpha.wordpress.com/2016/07/26/xcpm-for-unsupported-processor/

It´s trial and error, and you can test this for your Broadwell-E:

xcpm_bootstrap 10.11.6 Broadwell-E © Pike R. Alpha

find 83C3BB83FB09

replace 83C3B383FB09

find 5D7F288D48BB83F902

replace 5D7F288D48B383F902

reebot fix 10.11.6 © Pike R. Alpha

(it´s the same patch for each CPU, just test your motherboard, some boards need this)

find 554889E5415741564155415453504189D64189F74889FB4585FF0F84

Mystroe, try using a MacPro6,1 SMBIOS (and re-doing the freqvector) if you want the temp and idle speed to drop more. Are you on 5,1 just to avoid the GFX0/1 unloading from AppleGraphicsControl?

Yes graphics is my problem.

Here is what I use, based on shiloh's work. If you see it reported as GFX1 under BR3A in IOreg, then you probably are just not zero'ing out the previous devices, like H000, H001, or whatever your board calls it. Those devices also can change dynamically, so zeroing only H000 might cause a new device to again conflict with GFX1. Note that I have to STA0 H000 and D07C to get it to work. (This is from an X99-A 3.1, and might be identical for your X99-S.

I have not bought a Broadwell-E (OK, I have, but I haven't gotten around to installing it ;p), so I am not certain. I would do everything I outlined, including the iMac14,2 freqvectors, then the patches that SammlerG gives a few posts above.

This is the business.

i7-5820k on 10.11.6 and I've just bumped my geekbench from 18771 to 24992. Single core is around the same. Even beats my Win10 score of 23187

Obviously massive credit to Pike, as well as sammlerg and the folks here

Hi,

using Pike's patches I have xcmp enabled on 10.12 and Geekbench score is higher than El Capitan's, but I keep experiencing random reboots...

Anyone with the same issue?

I'm using Clover latest version and ssdt generated by Pike's ssdtPRGen util + all binary patches mentioned in PIke's xcmp blog post. Frequency vectors loaded correctly.

On a side note: Logic 10.2.4 is constantly maxing out CPU with "System Overload" messages, using the same projects/settings that worked flawlessly with El Capitan.
