Media Card Reader not working (not powered on)

Hello guys, sorry for my English.
I did a clean and fully functional installation of Yosemite by Clover.
The only thing that doesn't work is the Media Card Reader USB (Sony) that is not powered by the computer. Works all my external hard drives and USB but the card reader is not working. I tried both the front and rear usb. It is really strange!

I repeat that it is not just powered from the computer. When I turn on the computer (from bios to bootloader) the LED on the card reader works, but when I start OSX the reader is powered down.

What could be the problem? The reader works on all my other mac or pc.

Looks like your card reader is not recognized by the OS. Did you try plugging in a card or something? Is it doing anything?

I did all the possible tests. It seems that OS X does not power on the card reader.

But it is very strange, because it should at least power on !

You mentioned it working with the other Mac. Which Mac is that? Is it a "real Mac"? If so, what's the difference between the two? What are you running on that one?

I've had some strange issues with my wireless mouse, for example, between Yosemite and El Capitan. Doesn't work with Yosemite but it works with El Capitan (also, worked with Mavericks, but that's another story). Same hardware, same port.

Maybe I could try installing El capitan to verify. I'll try! Thanks!
