JAPPO
can the 20 inch imac core 2 duo be upgraded in ram later on? yeah I know it can, but I mean without replacing all of the 512 MB sticks. For example, 1x512 and then remove the other one and put a 1x1GB or is that impossible? Where do they sell 1GB sticks?
A Nonny Moose
You can do it without any serious effects. Since the RAM is dual channel, though, it is more effective to plop in RAM in matched pairs.
joe75
It is recommended to use matched pairs, the core2's have HT which always benefits from matched size. Even though it can be done, it is always wise to use matched pairs, same size, brand and preferably the same manufacturing week
