Hello my name is Andrew.

I'm a little new when it come to OS X. The reason i'm here posting this is because i've been trying all kinds of ways to get computers in my house to run OS X. But all of them but one (hopefully) is incompatible. So now it comes to the question, What kind of computer is it? It's an Acer Aspire E1-571-6888 laptop.

The specs:

Intel Core i3-3120M pushing 2.5GHz with 3MB L3 Cache (It says dual-core on website but i see 4 processors under device manager)

Video/Display: Intel HD Graphics 4000 and it's up to 1760 MB of Dynamic Video Memory

RAM: 4 GB DDR3

HDD: 500 GB (ST9500325AS) <-- I think that's the type.

MotherBoard: North Bridge Chipset - Mobile Intel HM77 Express (I looked it up so it should be correct)

Qualcomm atheros ar5b125 wireless adapter/Broadcom Netlink Gigabit ethernet

ELAN mouse/trackpad

Realtek Audio

---------------------------------------------------------

So i really want to install OS X on this computer but i have no idea if ANY OS Versions will run on here. I might dual boot but i'll do that later once i know if i can support any versions of OS X. I did a bit of research but i couldn't find this model nor some of the hardware components on OSx86 website (Hackintosh). But i dont even know if it's been tested on this computer if thats why it's not listed. If somebody can help me find out if i can run OS X it would mean alot to me. We all know Macs are expensive so i cant afford one. But i do have access to a little older Macbook Air. It's my step fathers so it's not mine but i can use it. Thanks to anyone and hope i can get a reply.

Hello and Welcome!

Here is a guide for Mountain Lion: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/290004-guideos-x-mountain-lion-in-acer-aspire-e1-571/?p=1925889

The versions up should also work, but should perhaps need some newer kexts and a bit different method of creating the installer.

For this you could follow this guide: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/280756-guide-the-all-in-one-guide-to-vanilla-os-x-including-chameleon-dsdt-for-beginners-updated-for-yosemite/?p=1835023 or this one; http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298027-guide-aio-guides-for-hackintosh/?p=2019429

Have fun.
