710torch
Tomorrow I will be starting a build and initially putting windows 7 on it, however, I was wondering how compatible my system might be with hackintosh. I have been searching the web for other people who might have done the same set up and have found mixed reviews but they were all fairly old so I was wondering if anybody else would have some input. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/PYD9mG

mac09hack
What kind of CPU cooling are you using on the 4790K? I recently built a computer with a GA-Z97X-UD7/4790K and a GTX-760. I used the information available from www.rampagedev.com to complete the installations of Mavericks and Yosemite. I used a water cooler for the CPU and it works well keeping the CPU cool. 710torch
Thought I'd give an update on my build. I got it done last week, and this is my first build so I'm pretty psyched it went together without any problems whatsoever. Currently have windows 10 on it, but that is just because I have been busy with school and haven't had too much time to mess around. I finally got a second hard drive in the mail (as it is currently booted off the ssd), so now I am prepared to put the mac os on it. Here are some pics of my build: What kind of CPU cooling are you using on the 4790K? I recently built a computer with a GA-Z97X-UD7/4790K and a GTX-760. I am using the cooler master hyper 212 evo. It seems to do the job just fine, I decided not to spend too much money on it because I wasn't gonna really be pushing my build much. I'll have to check out rampagedev though for sure. I have a usb boot of Yosemite, should I worry about any differences in steps?
710torch
So ran into a problem. I have the bootable usb drive with yosemite, and I can boot using the chimera, however, when I click USB, it will load the apple screen and a loading bar will appear but stops about 1/4 of the way and then I just get a completely white screen with the loading wheel. I've tried a few different boot flags but all seem to do the same. It goes from loading the apple bar to a white noise screen then a blank white screen. If I move the mouse I get the loading wheel edit: Fixed by removing RAM sticks. Seems to be installing now. Will update
mac09hack
I would only suggest you use the Clover boot loader as it is the future of hackintoshing. Other boot loaders usually will restrict you from accessing the App Store and downloading any updates from there. The Clover boot loader is very well crafted and works really slick.
