tissot
I tried several times to install Yosemite on GA X79-UD7 with GTX750 but still without any success I have another motherboard - GA Z68MA-D2H-B3 with i5 CPU, and can move GTX750 on it. Should I try with Z68 if possibility to run OS X is higher or to try again with X79 ?
spakk
use for "GA X79-UD7" the DMG package of ramagedev, thre are all necessary drivers, DSDT and SSDT included, so will OS X work! if you use Chameleon bootloader uses a matching kernel to the version you want to install. more information you can refer here.http://www.rampagedev.com/?page_id=48
tissot
Thank you very much for the advice spakk! I did successfully boot and install at least:) But can't understand how to deal with X79.dmg. It seems I haven't drivers for network and video, probably for motherboard as well. https://goo.gl/photos/uGrE1Chydwrgm6z89
mac09hack
I have recently built a Great hack from the Gigabyte Z97X-UD7 mother board and with all the information from www.rampagedev.com, I was able to build the USB to boot into loading Mavericks and Yosemite and used the Haswell.dmg package downloaded from that site to install and configure the computer COMPLETELY! There is a network.kext and a sound fix included. I used an EVGA Invidia GTX-760 and the video works OUTofThe Box. My 2014 MacBookPro has the GTX750 inside so there must be Apple drives loaded with Yosemite and Mavericks to support that video card. tissot
The exact model of the motherboard is http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4047#ovand I think it is Sandy , not Haswell. Also I didn't find this motherboard in Step 3 at X79.dmg and Haswell.dmg
tissot
Short update: I used x79-ud5 v2.2 from x79.dmg , it seems I have a problem with the video driver, without nv_disable=1 I just receive a restart
spakk
check the contents of the DMG file. If you should not find your board in the DMG, so make with Maciasl a dsdt / SSDT and modify. If you have problems with modifying the dsdt and SSDT? then contact rampagedev or uploade here your raw dsdt's files. but the drivers for the board you can use from the DMG. tissot
Finally I did change GTX750 to GT740 and it looks like everything works fine now. Strange in About this Mac I can see Processor: 3,2GHz Unknown probably because there were not i7 Extremes in MacPro's ... I have an PCI-ex WiFi adapter (Asus PCE-N15) for which didn't find info is it can work with OS X. Perhaps will buy TP-Link TL-WDN4800. tissot
For now everything works fine I think. Tried to copy the test environment from hdd to ssd with SuperDuper but it seems EFI partition doesn't copied. Should I have to use some program like NortonGhost, CloneHD ?
