tattar8
Hey, I have a ASRock Z97 Anniversary board and a Radeon R5 220 board, which seems to be identifying as a Radeon 5xxx chip. Because I'm using a Haswell-based Celeron, I have to use Clover to inject a fake CPU ID. I was able to enter the installation fine by injecting one of the hardware ID's in AMD5000Controller.kext; this caused the card to be recognized correctly. However, post-installation, at boot I am met with a black screen with a beach ball. If I disable the fake GPU ID, then the system boots, but with no acceleration, locked at 720p. How do I get the system to boot with the correct drivers?
Slice
Did you mess FakeCPUID and FakeID for Radeon card?
tattar8
Figured it out. For some reason, entering a FakeID for a similar card didn't work, but editing AMD5000Controller.kext and AMDRadeonX3000.kext and to add support for the card's real ID did. Slice
FakeID may not work if DSDT is quirky.
