assakaa
Hey Guys! I would want to ask you a question that's been bothering me for months. I am running 10.8.5 on my Lenovo T410 without any trouble, but I want to upgrade to Yosemite. The problem is that every time I try to boot the installation of ANY distro (or even a "clean" USB), the startup is stuck at DSMOS has arrived. Now I know this problem is a Graphics problem. So I deleted all the graphics kexts from the USB key. But it doesn't work! I'm still stuck at DSMOS has arrived :/ Deleting the kexts worked for Mountain Lion, but aparently doesn't work with Mavericks and Yosemite. I also tried "GraphicsEnabled=No", -x, etc. Basically every solution present on the web... Do you have any idea? Thanks a lot, I'm waiting for your ideas
mac09hack
I don't know anything about using Distro's, but I have been successful building a great hack after a very long learning curve. It takes a lot of searching and assembling information to get a PC to run MacOS X. I am sure you are correct that this Do not Steal Mac OS message ending a -v boot process is about graphics. My suggestion to you is use the retail App Store versions of the installer and Clover boot loader to install MacOS. Learn about DSDT and SSDT.aml files and how they can make MacOS look at your non-Apple hardware as if it is.

assakaa
Thanks for your replies guys. I have created my Clover USB Stick based on the retail Yosemite. For the first time ever it boots correctly, so obviously Clover helps... Until it arrives at the graphics part: my screen becomes white with 2 lines in the middle. Still a graphics problem because I hadn't delete my IntelHD* kexts. So I deleted them... but now back to square 1: stuck on DSMOS has arrived :/ So you say this would have to do with the DSDT? Could you explain a little bit further, this will be the first time I'll do work with DSDT/SSDT files. Thanks so much for your help, we're moving forward
Shaneee
Don't know much about Clover but try using its Graphics Injector feature. Shaneee
What IntelHD is it you've got? Have you looked here? http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/forum/175-intel/
assakaa
I've got a 1st gen IntelHD I had successfully followed this guide from the forum you mentionned http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/286092-guide-1st-generation-intel-hd-graphics-qeci/to install Mountain Lion. But it stopped working for Mavericks and Yosemite.
Shaneee
What version of Yosemite are you using as a base installer? If its 10.10 try these to install. Intel HD Graphics QECI 10.10.zip Then once updated to 10.10.4 use these, Intel HD Graphics QECI 10.10.4.zip These should work assuming your Device ID is either 0042 or 0046
assakaa
Hey Shaneee, thanks for your advice So my base installer is 10.10.3. I downloaded the QECI drivers for 10.10.3 and put them in S/L/E. But it did nothing. Still stuck on DSMOS has arrived. This is weird since I'm using the QECI drivers for 10.8.5 without any problem...
Shaneee
Did you repair the permissions? Boot with -f -v kext-dev-mode=

assakaa
Shaneee, I booted using -f -v kext-dev-mode=1, but it still didn't work. spakk I tried to follow the guide you mentioned but the file "OSX_Yosemite_Chameleon V7" isn't available anymore, so I can't follow it. Thanks for your help guys
Shaneee
Try downloading the post install folder in that guide and replace your Extra folder with the one in the zip. I notice it includes a DSDT in it. Then boot with -v -f GraphicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x2000
spakk
@assakaa, it is secondary what Yosemite build you will use for USB Installer Primary are: use a current clover bootloader or Chameleon bootloader. the right bootargs for your system the correct drivers for your system then the system should boot Edit: and should the system stuck somewhere, then make a picture and upload it here. Because the content of the image can give us much Information about it, then we can helped.
assakaa
Okay guys, I followed all your instructions, but still no boot. Here's what I did: Created a new USB based on the Retail Yosemite App Installed Clover r3253 on it with options as per this guide http://t410.mcdonnelltech.com/os-x-installation/– Bootloader > Install boot0af in MBR– CloverEFI > CloverEFI 64-bits SATA– Drivers64UEFI > EmuVariableUefi-64– Drivers64UEFI > OsxAptioFixDrv-64– Drivers64UEFI > PartitionDxe-64 Added the DSDT.aml from the how-to spakk mentionned When trying to boot from here (with args kext-dev-mode=1 -v -f GrahpicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x2000) here's what happens: Copied the config.plist from Clover USB Pack Added the kexts + HFSPlus.efi in T410 Clover USB Pack from the aforementioned guide. Now we get a white screen with 2 lines in the middle, telling that the graphics have indeed started, but are broken Deleted the IntelHD* kexts from /S/L/E Stuck on DSMOS has arrived Copied the QECI kexts for 10.10.3 to /S/L/E Also stuck on DSMOS has arrived
spakk
upload your EXTRA folder as a zip file here.and please make a picture so that I need not make a headstand to read the contents. spakk
something is wrong with your graphics card driver, you need this Graphics drivers for Yosemite 10.10.3, download the driver in the appendix (recent versions of your graphics card can be found here) Edit: and boots as shaneee has described Intel HD Graphics QECI 10.10.3.zip Edited August 7, 2015 by spakk
