I cannot install version 4.3.30 and above (including 5.0), the installation failed at the end. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. I looked at virtual box forum and it seems only me is having this issue, so i suspect it is the hackintosh isssue. Prior to those versions VirtualBox is working. My workaround is reinstalling the old version VirtualBox-4.3.26-98988-OSX Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Gutz-Otoole Posted July 22, 2015 Share Posted July 22, 2015 I'm running Yosemite with 100% functionality, booting with Chameleon. I've been running VirtualBox on this platform for two years without issues. Last night I installed version 5.0 over version 4.3.30 with no issues. Is a BIOS update available for your MB? If so, try that. I hope you can fix your problem because the update to 5.0 is certainly worth the effort. Guests are more stable and boot noticeably faster. There was an old version of kernel in the root directory, named mach_kernel, where I copied when tried to troubleshoot an early installation of 10.10 Removed this file, VirtualBox 5 can be installed.
