marvelloard
Hi, I'v had Mavericks running perfectly and updated to Yosemite recently. Installation was done using ##### and worked just fine. However, with kernel cache every first boot I get a black screen, every second boot I get a freeze while loading the desktop (see picture) and every third boot the machine boots up just fine. Using -f boots it up almost every time, but today I got a freeze at loading the desktop. Once the machine is up and running, it works perfectly well. Sleep is working too. Can someone help me? Allan
We don't give support for Tonymac tools. So, if you want get a correct and stable Hackintosh use our tips.
marvelloard
Please, I installed all the kext, DSDT myself without a tool. I configured the latest Chameleon by myself. This is a very vanilla installation. I just used that one tool to create a boot disk. Would you please help me out.
Allan
And why you use DSDT? What patches your Hackintosh needed?
marvelloard
Thank you. I only patched AppleRTC because of CMOS reset. Chameleon: Keylayout.dylib, Sata.dylib. Also I must say that I run Catri BIOS on this mainboard. Actually I forgot I'm not using DSDT any longer, it also works without (used it in Mountain Lion, long time ago). But it seems GraphicsEnabler=yes fixed my boot issues (did three successful cold boots in a row). One more thing, while shutting down, I see a black screen with a spinning wheel for 30 about seconds. Mavericks shut down almost instantly. Do you have an idea? In my /extra/extensions I have the kexts seen in the picture, but with boot cache they won't get loaded anyway, right? E.g: Here OS X Mavericks shutdown in 5 secs, but in OS X Yosemite in 15 secs. But you always can repair the disk permissions for avoid this kind of issues. marvelloard
Alright thank you! I guess Yosemite is just a bit more of a resource hog.. By the way, is a DSDT necessary? I know my custom BIOS does some kind of black magic, but what about more recent hardware?
Allan
Alright thank you! I guess Yosemite is just a bit more of a resource hog.. Yes By the way, is a DSDT necessary? I know my custom BIOS does some kind of black magic, but what about more recent hardware? No, is not obligatory. Today bootloaders like Clover can do some things (E.g: use patches for enable audio, video, etc..) without DSDT. Even in current hardwares. marvelloard
Quite ironic, with Yosemite's "light" new interface If El Capitan is to Yosemite what Snow Leopard is to Leopard, I can live with that. OK thank you. Getting a Macintosh up and running seems to be a lot easier nowadays (started and failed with Tiger )
